Actually, I've noticed on BSG that if the actors do it properly, you can't really hear the difference unless you're listening for it. Not all the time, but on occasion.

Did you just skip half the posts on this page? The reason they say "frak" on BSG is because "****" violates broadcast standards. And no mild version of it would do-- the entire point of swearing is to say something offensive. That's why you don't scream "Rats!" when you hurt yourself.

Ofcourse I know why they say "frak"! But that does in no way change the fact that, to me, it still sounds wussys trying to sound though.

Ok, I just watched the episode. Very nice indeed. Here's my take on how the situation will be resolved:

This isn't just a spoiler for the already-aired episode, but it may be a spoiler for the upcoming one as well. Time will tell. You have been warned.

Spoiler:

First part of the episode will deal with the assault on the Cylon ships, which will go relatively smoothly. At one point some hitch or another will come up, and Adm. Cain will have Number Six brought up from the brig for consultation. Possibly Adama will have Boomer brought up to Galactica CIC for the same reasoning. The humans will emerge victorious, the music will build up the tension as the "assasination" pieces all move into place on each ship. Starbuck will be very much torn in two, but something Cain does will push her over the edge and we will see her make the decision to kill Cain. But when that moment comes, they're gonna have Number Six make her move first, get her revenge by killing Cain (essentially commiting suicide as well) before Starbuck gets to her. Meantime, they'll make it look like Cain's Executive Officer is very much in conflict as well, making the audience think that the situation will be resolved by him backing down in the end. But he'll eventually decide to obey orders, like all the times before, which is when something Adama does in relation to Boomer - simply treat her like a human being, perhaps - will make the Pegasus' Ex.O. decide to come clean and tell Adama what had been planned. The episode will end with Adama giving the Pegasus's Ex.O. command over the Pegasus.

Isaac Asimov used phrases like 'Ga-LAX-y!' and 'What in Space was that!?' it's a very very old custom to keep mainstream, and everybody knows what is really being said.

I'm betting my money too on Number 6 and the Pegasus's XO to play a pivotal role in the next episode. But I think  the Pegasus won't be with us much longer. It's just not BSG anymore if there are 2 battlestars happily cruising alongside. The Pegasus will either be destroyed in the assault (I'm thinking kamikaze attack on the resurrection ship with Cain and her loyal crew aboard), or will leave the fleet during the battle like in the old show.

Anway, i can't wait for the next episode.

Take it from someone who does know what's going to happen. These are just some things that are a given, but they are spoliers nonetheless...

The battle will be spectacular, the Pegasus will survive. Cain will die at the hands of Six. A new commander will be installed on the Pegasus, and although i'm unsure of his exact identity, he won't be able to handle the command. Finally, Adama will be promoted to Admiral.

By the way (can't edit my previous post since i'm on my cellphone), am I the only one to have noticed - with great pleasure - the return to the pre-Pegasus music style? Either the change was just them testing the waters, or it was simply the "happy" sounds, which - until Pegasus - haven't had the opportunity to be used.

I didn't notice anything, except the music did convey the emotion of the scene well. (Without it, it would've just been "Hey! Look! There's a big grey space turd sitting outside our port bow!")

Soo if it was testing the waters, it worked out well, methinks.

The music reflects the mood. When they first saw the Pegasus, they were happy. The music reflected that. Then as they were about to fight the Pegasus, they were not so happy. The music reflected that too.

I think Sandwich talks about the return well known darker themes used in the recent episode, in contrast to some new themes used in the dramatic climax of "Pegasus". Especially the string theme during the Adama-Cain dialogue ("I'm getting my men.") was significantly different (it reminded me of the Godzilla main theme of the 90's Godzilla movies).
That's all missing now in "Resurrection Ship", even in the flashback "previously on Battelstar Galactica" the music changed back to season 1 themes in that exact same scene.

Basically, in the episode "Pegasus", they had different music styles than before, and - now - after. I'm pleased that they returned to the original styles they had been going with, since I didn't like the style in "Pegasus".

Just finished listening to the podcast for this episode. Was surprised to learn that Resurrection Ship was originally a single episode, but it ran long, so they split it up into two episodes and shot some additional scenes to fill things out. The upside of this was that they (if I'm interpreting what he said correctly) got a full episode's worth of budget to throw at an episode that was mostly already created. So we're in for some really spectacular FX this week.
