Rah blaspheme!!!!!!
ok the plot, quicky: it begins in "the hobbit" (a book for childs, but still funny to read). basically a hobbit (small human like creature, smaller than a dwarf and thinner, but very agile, calm people, farmers and so on) finds a ring that turns him invisible. It's a detail in that book, but it's the begining of Lotr. In Lotr, gandalf, a magician, finds out that this ring is the... (harg, I need translation) the unique ring, forged by Sauron, a kind of superpowerful sorcerer, once the best general of Morgoth, ancient evil god slain ages before. Sauron built lots of rings (9 for the humans, 7 for the dwarves, 2 for the elvens) with magical powers, and gave them to the mightiests lords of each species. of course it was a trick, and he had the Unique ring, one that can lead all the other rings (everything that was done thanx to those rings would fall evil, something like that). The whole Lotr story deals with how some heroes try to hide that unique ring Sauron lost (and was found by Bilbo in "the hobbit"), and their attempt to destroy this ring (coz Sauron put a lot of his power in the ring, and makes it incredibly powerful -and really dangerous too for the one who have it, appart from Sauron of course).
Well, now, go find the whole series (Bilbo and the 3 Lotr books), and read them, that's an order!!!

Well..borrow the book and read it.

Theres really too much to explain, but if i had to say one thing - its a book and universe of an amazing level of depth and seems much more beleivable than any other book i ever read.

The book can dude, I highly recommend you read it. It's the only book that's ever given me a buzz. Massive landscapes, brilliant characters and a plot so good that as soon as I finished reading the last page I turned straight to the front and started reading it again

Darn. Favourite movie: The Matrix. I don't know what it is, but there's something about it that makes me watch it over and over again.

All Star Wars movies, the Broken Arrow (not the indian one, the one with the nukes).

Here's the actual poem from the book:

Quote
Three rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven rings for the Dwarven-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine rings for Mortal Men doomed to die,
And One Ring for the Dark Lord, Upon his dark Throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all. One Ring to find them
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

anything with Anthony Hopkins in it...
It's a fact.  Stupid people have stupid children.  If you are stupid, don't have sex.  If you insist on having sex.  Have sex with animals.  If you have sex with an animal.  Make sure the animal is smarter than you are.  Just encase of some biological fluke you and the animal have offspring, they won't be as stupid as you are.   One more thing.  Don't assume the animal is protected.  If the animal has a condom, or if female some interuterian device, insist they wear it.  Help stop this mindless mindlessness.  Keep your stupidty to yourself.  This message was brought to you by the Committee of Concerned Citizens that are Smarter than You are.

Wow... sounds pretty cool. I have a friend who's got it, I'll have to borrow it off him.

Oh, and Look to Windward (one of the Culture books by Iain M. Banks) is a great book too. Damn you Shrike, you got me hooked on the Culture.

At least it wasn't boring and I could watch it again if I was given the opportunity.

Watch the sequel.  Its nowhere as good as the original, but its perfect for a good laugh.

Edit: Its on this sunday on the Scifi Channel.

Umm... what? Maybe my sentence structure was a bit off, but 'it' in the sentence in no way referred to the Matrix.

"I don't know what it is, but there's something about it that makes me watch it over and over again."

'It' referring to 'something'.
