Ode to my favourite inanimate object
Seen this on another forum, thought it was quite a lot of fun, basically do as the thread title suggests. Picture is optional but it's nice to see the thing that enraptures you so. ;)

I love you Purple Monster,
you are so good to me.
It intrigues me and amazes,
you work by sorcery.
Some kind of wondrous magic
and elec-trickery.
I'll rig you with explosives,
in case of burglary.

Aww... that's sweet.  I wish I could say the same about my laptop.  I need to get a rig of my own.

Re: Ode to my favourite inanimate object
I've already broken the "inanimate object" rule, but whatever.

Damnit Taz, you annoyance
You wake me every morn'
To give you food and pet you
And yet I do not scorn
You lie in front o' the monitor
I thought I was the master
But oh how wrong I was
You cunning, furry bastard

(Taz is actually a she, but "*****" didn't rhyme and besides, she is not a *****.)

You mean cats aren't inanimate objects? They sure are lazy enough...

... elec-trickery.

Haha, brilliant.
Next time I don't know the solution to some exam problem on electrical engineering, I'll slip that one in ;)

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Do as I say, not as I do. ;)

It's just a bad picture, and one of the only ones I could find at the moment. She's actually very cute and cuddly, basically like a big kitten.

Definitely me. Mine is a bluepoint Siamese, and we fight a lot because he's an asshole, but I love him.
