The reasons we should be greatful for Freespace? I think we should ponder the words of a man so taken by the game he was willing to destroy a community for the ability to make a sequel:

If I DO get it, you and your teenny leetle friends on your Ferrous Oxide project, are effectively, shutdown because I don't piss around when it comes to IP properties. Every bloody morning it's like this.  You're just wandering about, putting off work for half an hour, and zzzzzeewwwwww-fssschhhht!  Somebody beams you in the eye.  Typical.  Honestly, it's getting to the point where I can't go out the house without wearing 5 inches of compressed molybdenum armour on top of my raincoat.  and that ****'s heavy, y'know.  Wearing 12 tonnes of the stuff isn't good for your posture or anything.

Anyways, pass me the ointment.  Aaah, that's better.
