I've been posting the WIPs over at Infinity, but I figured you guys might want to see it; basically this is the finished model, minus pilot:

Re: Space jet (very image heavy)
Thanks guys :) And I used Sketchup, Ilya. Google just bought it up and released the basic version for free (the pro allows commercial use and some other things IIRC). Link: http://www.sketchup.com/

By the way, Ilya, sig images are not allowed (when we get back to our default settings, they'll be removed). Just giving you a heads up :)

Re: Space jet (very image heavy)
The only problem with the free version of SketchUp I have found do far is that you can't convert the model files.....unless someone knows where I can get a converter somewhere...

BTW, ships looks better from the original picture I have saw last week

I like the model.
Can't wait to see it textured...

One question though:  If it's supposed to be a jet, I can't see any fan blades inside the engines.  Or is it just the angle?

This year, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union Address occurred during the same week.  This is an ironic juxtaposition of events--one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication, while the other involves a groundhog.

I would imagine they would be drawn in the texture (because it's really uneccessary to model that sort of fine-level detail).

Despite being very different in design, it reminds me of Spike's ship from Cowboy Bebop:

Yes, I know thread necromancy is bad but I really wanted to know to know what happened to this fighter model. Does anyone know if there is a finished model to this?

Well there's the model, but no texture. If someone wants to texture it, I'm all for it :)

Re: Space jet (very image heavy)
We have...a distinct lack of texture artists over at Infinity...so it will take awhile.  If you know how to texture though....lets just say IA updates the newest prototype release daily.

Re: Space jet (very image heavy)
I already submitted this model to you for use in Infinity, but when it was sent back telling me i needed to put in hardpoints and the like, I replied saying I didn't know how and needed direction on where to find it, but never got a reply.
I can texture but it takes me weeks for a single small model.

Re: Space jet (very image heavy)
That reminds me, we've canned the original way we planned hardpoints for ships.  You could probably just submit it as-is now.  Originally, hardpoints were simply small cylinders on the ship's hull where a weapon could be placed.  Now, we've adopted a "dynamic hardpoint" system, which instead will allow the player to put weapons anwhere on the ship they can find room.
