Well, São Paulo (Saint Paul,in english), the biggest and most important city in the country was recently a site of many violent attacks. The violence began after forty police officers were killed by gang violence (mainly the criminal organization Primeiro Comando da Capital - First Command of the Capital, PCC for short). Subsequently, the police officers sought to find the gang members behind the criminal acts. In the process, a violent situation arose, creating a clash between the police and criminals and taking the lives of over 150 people. But honestly, such thing was bound to happen anyway.

I've know and met some americans since I have some relatives in the US, so my opinion about the people is that they're pretty ok. But about your government, no offense, but its just downright ridiculous, altought its nowhere near the level of incompetence of our government.

Really? I didnt knew there might be another brazillian here.

oppionions of Brazilians... don't have much of an oppinion, generaly positive, I've sort of gotten the impression that most Brazilians are pretty good people, seems like your government is a bit screwy at the moment (the whole mob takeing over your main city thing) but I know a thing or two about liveing in a country with a crappy incompetent government.

Best football team in the world, rather dodgy internal league though, fair bit of corruption / inequality, nice beaches.  Oh, and samba.

Muderin' bastards? Well, excuse me but just because more people die here any day than in your little war doesnt mean were bastards!

Unfortunaly,I dont have much knowledge in soccer but I know it tends to be pretty much that. Soccer has a really interesting cultural effect here.

Only on Carnaval people do that or when there's a reasonable amount of alcohol involved.
