Looking for Firefly/Serenity stuff...
I'm looking for two things. One, a browncoat. No, not a fan. A coat. That I can wear. And purchase for less than $1200.

Two, a large (as large as possible, preferably 1920 pixels wide) picture that was used as a poster/wallpaper for the movie Serenity. IIRC based off of the screengrab below; I just need a higher-resolution source. :)

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

I would pay $1200 for Joss Whedon to tell me, in person, who the hell Book really was. Wondering that is driving me bat**** insane.

That would be too easy to explain I'm afraid, it might be something shocking, possibly he headed the Miranda project?

On Book.

Read the novelisation of Serenity and you get a very, very big clue in the chapter where the Alliance attacks Haven. I'd find the book and quote the passage, but I gotta go to work.

Don't get it mixed up with a dirty mac screening, then.

Found one of the things I was looking for; the full HD trailer for Serenity had the shot. A little Photoshopping, and here you have it:

Got it, but I haven't read it yet.  I've got a theory that he was actually the Alliance commander in charge of the fighting at Serenity valley.  He was decorated as a hero, hence his VIP treatment when he got shot, but his experiences there changed him considerably so he left to enter a monestary... and ultimately the priesthood.

The Browncoat's commander and the Alliance's commander on the same ship? It's the original odd-couple!

Re: Looking for Firefly/Serenity stuff...
Speaking of browncoats, does anyone know if there's one on sale similar to the one the Doctor uses in Doctor Who?:

Go into any suit shop and you can find one of those coats.
