Just curious. Every Weds and Sun night DeathAngel squadron holds our private training game on PXO (named DeathAngels Only unless we're co-training UP which is then DA and UP only)

Yet every time...we have hundreds of ppl jumping into the game. At first we asking them politely to leave explaining it was a private training game,...but over the years it's now boot on entry.

Ok I'm ranted a little...but DAMN it's annoying.


(No we don't close or use paswords because some old DA show at times and wouldn't be able to join,...trust me we tried...didn't work well)

Warlock, they must be illiterate or totally moronic because while I haven't done much PXO gaming, I've run into the same thing.

A few are courteous and leave quickly, most are totally stupid.  Of course, I get pissed off when I get kicked from a game and where I would have happily left should I have been asked.

Pros and cons for both sides.

I'll admit I'm more for at least asking the first time,...but it's getting past that.

Yet...NEVER fails...here they come. lol

And honestly...half the time when we'd politely ask someone to leave...the reply was normally very crude (f*** you) or the effect of...oh yall are just scared to fight me.

Ummm yea,...really we're scared  


Course last time I heard that one..I had Gryphon dump them to Red team...ALL Da on Green,...ok,.we'll even park and tag team instead of mass attack if you REALLY wanna take us all on.    (Thus are kinna funny thou)

Which is a good reason to have in-squad stuff done via IP only games.

Sure it means you won't have as much of a PXO presence so RAMALAMADINGDONG squad will claim "You Don't Have th4t many m3mb3rs!" but it sure filters out who's playing

Its the same everywhere with every game. I too find it highly annoying and they act as if you,ve done something wrong.

You could try just setting up a passworded game. I saw your game last night and it was the only one open for a while, so that might have been why others were joining. (eventually I started a game, after which everyone came there )

I tried PXO once, didn't try it again. Laggy, bad players, low level of newbie tolerance, etc etc...

Reason we don't use like passwords, UP members are ok to join and ask about Co-Op training,..we've got a training agreement to help boost them up   Also...we've got aLOT of old DA pilots that while no longer on the SW roster...are still and always a part of the family and they wouldn't know the password,..even if we set up a "This will ALWAYS be the password" ...a few guys we rarely see,..but want them to be able to fly with us when they do show from time to time.

Besides,..it's only common since,..If I see a game labeled HLP Admin only...hell I know you all even...but I won't join because I'm NOT one of those listed.

I mean...it's not much trouble for Gryphon to hit the boot button...it's just I was hoping to find a means to communicate a little curtosy. We do almost each training night host an open game...which is either just "Gryphon's game" or something like "Da vs whoever shows up in here"

Obvious  so far is the password for those games, and of course  IP to IP.
 but wait...
 there is another...
 

 Try having those games in private rooms.
 the lag is usually way better there than in the lobby  and unless the general population know, well   they simply can not see your game.

My main point was just wondering WHY this happens so much. Not how can I avoid it,..I mean...leaning over....selecting pilot,..pressed BOOT,..it's not that tough.

For as annoying as it might be  you must understand that there is a lack of games up at any one given time.
 Some people are,  well... desperate. They can see the warning but there is no better blind than the one who will not see.
And most of those are the new peeps who have just started  playing the game.

Can you really blame them?
But aI agree it can be rather annoying.

You mean you cant just send an email out to all the members ssaying "ok this is our password of the week, it will be the password for any private game"
That way every member knows what the password is, but no one else does...
