yeah, my state is full of ignorant hicks, so it's a red state.  i just hope my vote in combination with the black people that the ignorant hicks used to subjugate will tip the balance.

oh yeah your vote counts

but seriously, vote anyway, just to say you cared, if there is one thing that can be sure it's that you will at least be counted as having an opinion on the matter, even if it's ignored.

I voted for neither Republican nor democrat for the senate and voted down the gay marriage ban. I only voted republican for Tom Davis for the house.

reminder to all Americans, tomorrow is the day you go and vote Libertarian (or at least Green) and generaly fight the system.

no, it's not - it's the day you go vote Libertarians are no better than republicans, infact and many way's they're much worse.  the totality of the implementation of Libertarian party's policies would be the total and complete collapse of america as a free country within a genreation, the power vacuum their naive policies would create would be filled by the corporations they so highly worship and think would "do the best for all people" in their naivete - it would be cute if it wasn't such a damaging policy if ever adopted.

You want 1984 to become reality in america faster than the republicans could ever dream of it doing so? vote libertarian

--------------------------

vote green if the green candidate you are voting for is VIABLE and the republican in the race has no chance of voting - i like the greens more than the dems too for the most part - but if voting libertarian means making it easier for the republicans to keep/gain a sreat then i will vote democrat to deny them that seat.  atleast the democrats try to be representative

anyway, I find it interesting that if you have the social position of a democrat and the economic position of a republican, all of the sudden you are living in a fanticy world of marmalade skies and lollipop forests.

libertarians have neither

you have such an extreme economic position that all but the most extreme republicans (read: bush et al) won't touch it with a ten foot poll - your economics and role-of-government positions would lead to corporate oligarchy within a generation

My state lights up red immediately after voting closes for the day.  Luckily, that's what I would vote, so it doesn't really make a damn bit of difference if I vote tomorrow or not.  It's about the only thing I like about this state.

i'm sorry that you're a freedom hating theofascist scumbag who needs go to some country where the fascism you support is welcome - because it's not welcome here

And this will encourage him to change his voting position how?

someone like him is beyond understanding why he is wrong, so you just have to point and laugh

he thinks these fascist bastards he's been supporting are good for america still.. and that takes the upmost ability to lie to oneself and believe exactly what is being spoonfed to them by the republican noise machine aka fox news, etc.

Nix... news for you - the republicans are BAD for america, BAD for freedom (they HATE freedom), BAD for your security, BAD for everything.

there isn't one thing the republicans do that is right (i challenge you to attempt to dispute that statement)

it's not very civil for them to be supporting bigotry against me,
it's not civil for them to be supporting neofascists,
it's not civil for them to think that they have the right to vote their religious **** into government

so what is less civil? chewing someone out, or supporting theofascism

as if half the forum doesn't do them anyway, as if you didn't ignore it when most of the others *cough*UT*cough*ngtm1r*cough* do it

when you can apply threats equally then we'll talk, until then you should stay out of it

you do realise that taking that attitude and speaking that way will do more than any other thing that can be said here to encourage any undecided people to vote Republican?

If you're wanting to create a polarisation, the very least you can do is portray your side in a good light; the language of 'theofascists' and 'they hate freedom' isn't all that dissimilar from the more repugnant elements of government 'war on terror' fearmongering, and I'm very surprised you'd use that same tactic to try and badger people into submission.  Ultimately laughing at and blatantly insulting people for their political conviction will achieve very little beyond perhaps giving you a bit of masturbatory glee and sadly making you look like a bit of tosspot.

Respect and politeness, I've found, are always more effective than swearing and ranting - even if it's a tactic I've never quite mastered myself.

you clearly haven't had to live in this country for the last 6 years tolerating the growing theofascism (and yes, that is a proper political-science founded term for it) in this country, you haven't had to toleratre even moderate christians trampling your constitutionally mandated rights your entire life!

They claim to "love freedom" - and yet they pass more and more laws that restrict it and violate others that protect
They claim to "love america" - and yet they call one of the most fundamental american rights, the right to criticize our government, "unamerican"

what more evidence could possibly exist that the republicans are no better than the taliban?  if someone is not convinced of the abject evil of the republican party by now, then they're either evil themselves, or simply stupid.

I've found respect and politeness to be pointless with these people, especially since they NEVER observed them from the start.  You think these people respect atheists? you think these people respect those who oppose the war?

do you have a better term for a policial movement which believes their religion is the one-truth and makes laws based on it that effectively force everyone else to follow their religion, while that same political movement supports unchecked power of the executive?
