How are gay people "forcing their 'lifestyle'* and ideals down straight people's throats"? by wanting to be able to marry each other?

how is telling them "no, you cannot marry the person you love" any less straight people forcing their ideals and lifestyle down gay people's throats?

* Gayness is not a lifestyle, one is born gay

---------

Yeah, they were written for the express purpose of pissing off non-christians and are a violation of the constitution.

You see no harm? well.. i guess you don't believe i have rights then, and you think the constitution means nothing?

PS: "god" on the money and in the constitution were added in the 1950s, E Pluribus Unum is the motto of america - and god on the money and in the pledge violates that motto just as it violates the constitution.

It's not a "view" that the constitution mandates that, it's a fact.

even if they weren't added in the 1950's "historical reasons" are not a valid reason to violate the constitution.  Should we go back to making women be disenfranchized, unable to enter the workforce, and basically property of their husbands or fathers because it was what was done historically?  should we make black people be slaves because what it was done historically? should we allow people to cut up girl's genitals (or boys) because it is what was done historically?

i know you're smart enough to see the assininity of argumentum ad antiquitatem

-----------------------

pornography ban is unconstitutional.. challenge it... atleast you answered one of the questions right - now explain to me the difference between laws passed by the mormons and laws passed by other christians like putting god on the money

------------------------

No, you I don't owe you an apology - you support the violation of my rights and the supression of equal right of gays - one out of three doesn't get you pass on the test of rights.

let's start tacking on more questions - what about funding the boyscouts (clearly a violation of the constitution via the establishment and free exercise clauses) - they descriminate against non-religious individuals

==============================

nuclear1: state IDs are not free in most states, making them constitute a poll tax and therefore explicitly illegal - that sign is also illegal in that state since the state law requiring ID was ruled unconstitutional

[edit]
also sometimes the places you have to go to get those "state IDs" poor people are unable to reach because of transportation - you know not everyone has cars, some people are too poor afford them, and they cannot get time off work and/or a ride to the place to get the ID

that disenfranchises poor voters, and therefore is illegal

The Maryland GOP's ballot scam
Quote
Inaccurate sample ballots describing Republican Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. and Senate candidate Michael S. Steele as Democrats were handed out to voters in at least four polling sites in Prince George's County this morning.

The ballots were handed out by people who said they arrived by buses this morning from Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Erik Markle, one of the people handing out literature for Ehrlich, who is seeking reelection, and Steele, the current lieutenant governor who is campaigning to replace retiring Sen. Paul Sarbanes (D), said he was recruited at a homeless shelter in Philadelphia.

After a two-hour bus ride to Maryland, Markle said the workers were greeted early this morning by first lady Kendel Ehrlich, who thanked them as they were outfitted in T-shirts and hats with the logo for Ehrlich's reelection campaign. Nearly all of those recruited, Markle said, are poor and black. Workers traveled to Maryland in at least seven large buses.

Actually, the only evidence people have presented is semi empirical in nature. So far no one has shown there to be a gay gene. And frankly human sexuality is a very complex subject. It is not as simple all biological and absolutly not determined to be mental in nature.

I doubt it even matters, to be honest.

No in most cases it doesn't and certainly doesn't necessitate a ban. A ban that would be declared unconstitutional accoring to interstate compact.

I think it depends on how you define lifestyle. There is a choice; there's always a choice if you have the will, or enough people breathing down your neck. That is the beauty and the curse of being a human.

The Boy Scouts of America does not discriminate against non-religious individuals, Kaz. To be quite frank at the local level most people really don't care if you're atheist or not. I don't know where you dig this bull**** up and don't much care. Yes, they mention God a few times in various formulaic responses. But the BSA has always embraced freedom of religion (which by necessity includes lack thereof). They even have religious medals for the Zoroastrians, for Chrissakes. Don't tell me they discriminate against non-religious individuals, you're talking out of your ass.

Yes, you have to know the Scout Oath to make Tenderfoot and above. That doesn't mean you have to practice it. I grant they want you to make an attempt; if you want to make it to First Class or above you pretty much have to make an attempt. But your attempt need not include the "God" of "to God and my country".

You confuse the actions of the few with the many. Overall National BSA policy does not give a good goddamn. Troops run by the Mormons do. I'd hoped you were more sophisicated than to deal in guilt by association. It seems I hoped in vain.

absolutely and totally incorrect statement - where have you been living?

they mapped the Xq28 gene

0% of subjects without Xq28 were gay
70% of subjetcs with Xq28 were gay

so it's not a single-gene, but Xq28 is the primary determinant.

it's the diebold thingy, it ends with them filming a demonstraition of how to fix an election in a manner that would be totaly undetectable if it wasn't caught in the very beging (wich by it's self would be hard to do if the right people were involved)

If it was bad for America, don't you think something would have happened in the last ~200 years?

actualy most of that stuff happened in the 50s, and America seems to have peaked right about there, sence that tiem we have been on a slow generaly downward spiral.

Men With Guns Harass Latino Voters
Quote
Nina Perales, a senior poll-watcher for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), called me from Tucson's Iglesia Bautista precinct, where the three men are approaching Latino voters and videotaping them on their way to vote.

"As voters are coming out of their cars and walking up towards their polls, one person is videotaping the voter as he walks towards the polling place," she said. Then another person, wearing an American flag bandana and a shirt with the image of a badge ironed or embroidered on it, approaches with a clipboard to talk to the voter. "While the clipboard person is. . .talking to [the voter], the cameraperson comes up and starts videotaping their face," Perales said.

As this happens, the third man -- with a gun visible in a sideholster -- stands next to the voter. According to Perales, he is wearing a shirt with an American flag on it, and camouflage shorts.

The men only approach Latino voters, she said, and noted they have been doing so since early this morning.

I just have to say that as an outside observer that the whole election process down there is comedic.  The election and electoral candidates should be the focus of attention and yet there are so many news stories about how screwed up polls are and so forth.  I'll say it again...we'll send Elections Canada down there to do your elections for you. Course maybe we should keep them for our own.

Last time we had that debate, there was no gay gene.
Quote
Source: Biology and sexual orientation
In 1993, Dean Hamer published findings from a linkage analysis of a sample of 76 gay brothers and their families. Hamer et al (1993)[7] found that the gay men had more gay male uncles and cousins on the maternal side of the family than on the paternal side. Further analysis by Hu et al[8] revealed that 67% of gay brothers in a new saturated sample shared a marker on the X chromosome at Xq28. Sanders et al (1998 cited in Wilson and Rahman 2005, p52)[9] replicated the study, finding 66% Xq28 marker sharing in 54 pairs of gay brothers. However, three teams (Bailey et al 1999, McKnight and Malcolm 2000, and Rice et al, 1999 cited in Vilain, 2000)[10] failed to replicate the finding. More recently, Mustanski (2005)[11] failed to find the Xq28 marker in a complete genome scan of gay men’s DNA. Mustanski did however find autosomal markers at 7q36, 8p12 and 10q26. The evidence for the Xq28 marker has therefore become muddied by failures of replication.
