I have to say I've never played FS1/2 on anything above medium.  I've just never really thought about it, but I usually get too wrapped up in the story to care about how difficult it is to fly, defeat targets, etc..

no. Her name is Novachen (Squadron Tag: [SLD] Nova)

Was Sweet Savage another female player, i will ask nova about her, maybe she know her.

Well I have never seen your GF on Freespace before....... or remember her anyways, but yes sweet savage was a female pilot, and might I add, an A+ coop player as well, I dont remember her in TvT before so I can't tell you how good she is vs. other players.

Ask her if she remembers an Admiral Khafe, that was me back when I was a noob

I play Hard now. In medium and up your wingmen really shine in their usefulness, both strategically and as cannon fodder. :D
To consider the Earth as the only populated world in infinite space is as absurd as to assert that in an entire field of millet, only one grain will grow. - Metrodorus of Chios
I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. I could only imagine the GTVA warriors giving a mighty KIAAIIIIIII shout as they worked their triggers, their biceps bulging with sinew after years of Ivan Drago-esque steroid therapy and weight training. - General Battuta

Lmao, i can play ITLD - Multiplayer version by myself and win the medal now. For those who didnt know, the difficulty for ITLD on multiplayer to get the medal is Insane. There are no respawns in that mission.

I usually play Hard but I've spent countless hours playing on Insane as well.  Nothing like dying 20 times to beat a mission. =D

I hate skipping missions if i keep dying. I always will keep doing that mission until i beat it, just not satisfying until i beat it. Plus the missions in fs2 are really fun. I don't want to skip an interesting mission, who else here does? Unless you've played the campaign a million times :)
Every pilot's goal is to rise up in the ranks and go beyond their purpose to a place of command on a very big ship. Like the colossus; to baseball bat everyone.

Played the campaign through a few times on medium, moved on to hard now.

Like someone earlier mentioned, took me quite a while to get past the ravana mission. Got it in the end though ;) Also the first SOC loop on Hard is quite the feat to accomplish, especially the third mission. Never thought that trying to take out 4 to 5 Myrmidons could be that tough!

Oh, and hey all, believe this is my first post :P

I first played FreeSpace on Easy, and I had problems completing "Love the treason...", "Return to Babel" and "Argonautica", but it was when I was 11... Now, I usually play on Medium (Easy if I can't pass, I too hate skipping missions).

When I was in 3rd grade I played on Very Easy and I used cheats on the mission with the paracomb till the end of the game because it was so hard :p

I couldn't even get past the mission 'Lion at the Door' (the fourth one with the Behemoth) on Insane. I usually play on either easy or medium. Or very easy.

For some reason, I beat that mission on my first try on hard. I usually have to bump it down to easy.

I get whacked by the Maras, whacked by the Behemoth's SAAA, whacked by the Shivan backup force (the Astaroths), lose the Carthage, lose the Dashor. But that was one of my best tries, usually die earlier.

Actually on the 3rd mission of the SOC loop, there's a little secret i tried once.
But yes, taking out 5 myrmidons with no support was very hard. Back in the day i could do it with a gamepad on easy when i was a novice on fs2 after i tried that mission like 6 times.
But the little secret is that you know the NTF has already found you out during the briefing mainly because commander snipes got re-assigned somewhere else which probably meant he was going to be executed or something. Before doing that mission you've got the oh **** i don't have a good feeling about this mission feeling. When you get in there and you know it's the last SOC mission in the loop, just shoot down all of the myrmidons while they're taking out the cargo. After that happens, an NTF aeolus will jump in with a lot more myrmidons and then after a few more seconds support will come in to back you up taking down the rest of the NTF fighters and that damned aeolus. Then command says you of course that you've outlived your usefulness in the SOC and to jump back to base since your nav computer has new coordinates they uploaded to you.

The Skulls will take out the cruiser, its pretty cool in that mission. In fact, ALL the SOC loop missions have the 'no traitor' flag.

Easy.  I play games for fun and story, not to be driven crazy by missions I have to attempt 50 times in order to beat. :p

That's the thing I love about Freespace 2...they have that "skip mission" function if you fail it five times in a row. :)

Anyway, I play on Easy/Medium. :)
Same, I'm not like those guys you see getting 150 kills with only 3 deaths.... I suck... bad, so I go Easy.
Sometimes... when I feel lucky I go on Medium or even Hard if I feel invincible.

I admit it. Usually I play on Very Easy if I want to actually play something, but if I wanna have fun usually I play on insane since its more realistic.
