Actually, Thunder, I love the game, but not for who made it, I think it's cool because it's purty, and it has to do with Star Trek

Never said you can only like it because of who made it - but that helps (as you know you have a better chance of getting a good product from them).

Apparently so - you'd think at least someone would realise that Volition is very good at one thing - space games. They're not bad at other things but space is their niche. ID can do FPS like no other - similarly Volition can do space like no other and when publishers realise this we should be in for a wild ride (or not - as it looks now).

They don't look all that cool. Nice fog, aight beams, that's really it. The ST universe has uninspired ships in general, and the models fail to make me drool. The interface is crap- but that's beta. If you like screenshots of fancy effects, I could take one at practically any point in I-War and many parts of FreeSpace (the nebula in particular) that would blow those ones away, no questions.

Pearl Of Wisdom: Never EVER judge a game on screenshots.

You'll probably see a shot that looks kinda cool but when you buy the game you need a beast of a machine to run it and even then that shot will have been the best one out of hundreds taken and you'll most likely never see anything like it.

But they can tell you things about the game's interface and operation, which is why I'm unimpressed.

And good screenies can mean it's a good game, or has something you want. They DO tell you a lot, just because they don't tell you everything doesn't mean you should disregard them.
