"Negative, Command. We'll hold them off, just get the Bastion through!"

To consider the Earth as the only populated world in infinite space is as absurd as to assert that in an entire field of millet, only one grain will grow. - Metrodorus of Chios
I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. I could only imagine the GTVA warriors giving a mighty KIAAIIIIIII shout as they worked their triggers, their biceps bulging with sinew after years of Ivan Drago-esque steroid therapy and weight training. - General Battuta

Wait! I found another mistake: It's 'You would be well advised to question the..." not "You would do well to question the...". That may be where you got advice instead of wisdom.

"This is the GTVA Collosus..."

"Negative, command, we'll hold them off, here! Just get the Bastion through!"

Congratulations, idiot, you've bought the Bastion approximately two seconds of time...at the cost of only 30,000 people!

Re: Most Recognizable Freespace Dialogue?
Well, the Big C was disabled at the time.  I guess the captain just wanted to sound heroic.  Speaking of which...

I'm reading an incoming jump signature, configuration unknown!
Command there's a massive warship emerging from subspace!
Meet the Colossus, the largest space-faring warship ever constructed!

Incoming jump signature, FRIENDLY configuration. The Colossus is now on station.

Re: Most Recognizable Freespace Dialogue?
It was funny when I heard that last line for the first time. I heard "Incoming jump signature" and thought "Aw crap, MORE enemies?!" Then I heard "friendly" and I'm like "Phew."

You hear "Incoming jump signature" so much from Command whenever you hear it you immediately think there's  a new hostile.

"Incoming jump signatures - hostile configuration" - if I got a cent everytime I heard that .

"Negative, command, we'll hold them off, here! Just get the Bastion through!"
