Actually that's quite an interesting design. For a first model it's very

Actually wouldn't mind seeing something like that for the Sims

Looks good so far!

But please keep in mind that Sketchup is known for producing some truly horrendous geometry like vertexes and edges occupying the same space, but not connected. In other words they should be a single vertex or edge, not two in the same space.

Another problem I've seen with models from Sketchup is internal faces in what should be a solid piece. An example would be a cube with a face defined between two diagonally opposite edges.

What formats can Sketchup export to?

Agreed...

But to me it looks more like a station than a ship... Maybe you should elaborate that impression?  :D

Sketchup basic can only export to it's proprietary format. But the full version can do .OBJ, .3DS, and a few others.

Anyway, Sketchup isn't "known" for bad geometry - it's just known for making bad geometry look like good geometry, and modelers not taking the time to fix it. None of the models I've made have had bad geometry (just problems with exporting smoothing groups). - it's just because I'm careful. Like for instance, that round bit on the right hand launch bay thing looks like it'll produce some bad errors when exported. :)

Simple answer: You can't. The free version of Sketchup can only export to it's proprietary .skp files. There was a little talk about a ruby script plugin that lets you export to .POF, but I have no idea where that went.

No!!! It's imposible!

Can I open it in another(free) program??? Blender or TrueSpace?

Nope. That's what "proprietary" means.

BTW, even if you did export it to FS, it would need some map reduction by the looks of it. Having so many maps can cause HTL to slow down.

Try this quick test. Create a simple object like a sphere, then save the .skp file. Try opening the .skp in Notepad. If all you see is normal numbers and letters, it's an ASCII text format file.

If you see a bunch of weird characters, then it's a binary format file.

It's much easier for someone to create a conversion program for ASCII text files because they can be directly read. Binary files first have to be decoded, sometimes the first thing is figuring out the compression scheme used- then decoding the 3D data.

Nope it isn't just you, it seems to take forever to load the pics, if it doesn't stall then stop halfway through.

Here i found a plugin. It makes sketchup able to export model into OBJ.

Could anyone test it? I don't know how to use it, because I'm begginer in modelling.

Everybody finds it easy.

Except for me: when I try to draw a plan (i.e. a square used as the lowest poly of a ship) it always make one vertices in 3D... :doubt:
