in all seriousness I've been trying to solve the MOI issue for literally years now, and my calculus skils are now dull and rusty, so eh... might take longer than an hour.

ok, I'll pu it in, but there were a few things about how you were dealing with bounding boxes I wasn't 100% sure about, make sure you look over the bounding box code. worst comes to worse you can always just revert it of course.

Will you be able to replace the turret submodels on a model with different ones in future builds?
you can do that with current builds, go to the submodel editor and click the load button (ignore save it's on the road to being removed)

I select a turret and click load, but the submodel neither replaces the existing turret, nor is it a child of the main hull model.

you have to manually delete the turret you don't want (the small button with a red x on it near the top of the submodel editor).

imported subobjects are considered free, go to the tree and drag the imported object onto the object you want it to be a parent of.

Another GUI bug, the toolbar doesn't seem to update the buttons on a new file load.  For example, I switched to wireframe view, load a new model, it defaults to rendered texture view, but the button for wireframe is still selected.   There's probably more buttons that act that way but I didn't think it necessary to test them all.

I actually managed to kill PCS2 on the export while stress-testing it. I had an absolutely massive model that was totally unoptimized, and it imported ok (after about a 4-5 minute wait), but after a 4 minute wait on export to POF, it just closes itself with no POF generated, and no error message. I'm emailing you the model, Bob, at the address in your profile.

I think it's killing truespace too... I tried to decompose it into subobjects and it's still doing it...

I compiled it all into one subobject...I don't have a working copy of TS on this computer ATM, so I would've tried it, but if you really want to see if it's PCS2's fault or the models (I suspect it's that, as PCS2 does seem to be tricky with non TS-generated COBS), you could import the .3DS and save it as a COB.

Otherwise, you can wait a couple days for my computer to get back and I can do it myself :D

i've modified the texture loader to load <texname>-glow and <texname>-shine along with the main texture ... now just to figure out how to actually use them :P

Okay, PCS2 just isn't loading for me. I lightly skimmed over this thread and didn't find a solution, so here's the problem:

Whenever I run it, it yells at me about incorrect configuration and tells me to reinstall it :nervous:. It happened with the first, second, this (http://ferrium.org/media/pcs2-beta-20070701-1016.zip) and the one in Bob's signature build. I don't think I should mantis it or not, because I didn't do anything other than extracting and double clicking on the exe, and all of you seem to have it under control.

What did I forget to do?
