Re: Two New Star Wars movies...
Well... in Homeworld (or Homeworld Cataclysm?) there was a light ship that attached to cap ships and destroyed them in a similar way... In Italian its name was Sanguisuga, its English name should be Leech, but I don't know since I never played HW in English.

Well actually what is weirdest to me is why the hell didn't they just brush the critters to kingdom come with a single Force wave.

I mean, come one, they can't weigh more than 1 kg apiece. In other occasions these guys are lifting things and tossing stuff around with quite a bit more tonnage, but they cannot move those small round droids. Or perhaps the Force doesn't affect through vacuum, I dunno...
There are three things that last forever: Abort, Retry, Fail - and the greatest of these is Fail.

...it will be darker than many other SW films yet...
:wtf: How can you possibly know this? It hasn't even been confirmed whether this is true or not. We don't know when it would be set, who it would involve, if it would take EU into account, etc. Unless, of course, you know something we don't, in which case please share. :D

The Rebel Alliance is not supposed to win a significant battle against the Empire. This information is G-canon due to the opening crawl of Episode IV. The most positive ending I can think of is some refuge Jedi successfully escaping into safety, to the very end of the galaxy. Other than that, Darth Vader's shift to the dark side will be complete, he will become the same reckless and unstoppable Darth Vader you know from the original trilogy. He will kill Jedi - probably a few you already know, and a few made especially for this series.

I was wondering this, too. There is no official explanation to this I know of. Maybe it's this vacuum thing, maybe it's something else. But I think Lucasfilm doesn't want to explain such things. Remember that if stuff were as simple as they seem: Jedi would be able to push each other's lightsabers out with a single Force push/pull.

ya...wouldn't it be more efficient to jsut launch missiles? Or equip those droids with explosives? Just what IDIOT would come up with such a redicolous weapon anyway?

If moviemakers were to explain every single detail of their plots and inventions, a movie would cost twice as much money and time to create. Some things are just not worth discussing. You must learn to make a distinction between reality and fiction. Star Wars is fiction. Period.

You make a good point, but that doesn't detract from TrashMan's view: It's a stupid weapon resulting from ****house writing. Period.

you mean that someone must of been playing with themselves instead of concerntrating on what Lucas wanted...

TopAce i am certain everyone here knows the difference between fiction and non-fiction. and that is period.

Okay, so you're making it sound like this series or movies will be set in between Eps III and IV, in which case it would probably be dark, granted. But what makes you so sure that's when it'll be set?

I seem to remember press releases detailing that fact. Perhaps even Lucas himself saying so.

Re: Two New Star Wars movies...
I've always maintained that Ep. I-III are good movies. However, they are not good Star Wars movies.
I wouldn't even call Ep. I-III average, let alone 'good'. Honestly, did you see Episode III, or did you wander into the wrong theatre?

1 and 2 then. Honestly no, I never have seen 3 in its entirety. Perhaps the end sequences gave me a false positive :p

I wouldn't mind seeing something "KOTOR esq" as a TV series, or The Rogue/Wraith Squadron series.  Unfortunately i probably wont get my wish.  With my luck it will probably be based on NJO  :ick: the series that single handedly killed my enjoyment of SW novels

Re: Two New Star Wars movies...
I'm not that much of a fan of SW but if they manage to make this series more serious like KOTOR (and to a certain extent, Republic Commando), it may turn out to be something really good like the Clone Wars cartoon (granted, those were directed by that guy who's name I have no idea how to write ;)).

But I get the feeling they will get people like a younger Han/Leia/Chewie/Lando to appear just to say OMG!!!! What's he/she/it doing there?

Re: Two New Star Wars movies...
get the BSG writing directing crew to do star wars, and it would be good.

get lucas to do it, and it will be crap, like episode 2 (the worst of the worst).

of course, the way the SWC guys do things, we're just a bunch of crotchety old SW fans who want everything to be like the original trilogy and most of the EU books (no NJO).

I want to see some I, Jedi movie action, that'd be cool.

I think it could be done but it would be really hard to do, you would have to keep both Lucas and the annoying fanboys from getting nowhere near it and tha would be a miracle by itself.

Oh, okay then. I guess since I'm not a True Fan™ I'm not privy to whatever sources you're getting your information from. So sorry to not just blindly take your word for it with no proof.

(and if this was mentioned officially somewhere and I just overlooked it, then I apologize in advance :nervous:)

Even the TNG cast railed the director of Nemesis who apparently couldn't even get Levar Burton's name right. I forgot what the director's name was but.. yeah he sucked.

Re: Two New Star Wars movies...
Quite. Abominable movie, to be sure.

Rather nice CGI work, though. The Ent-E/Scimitar skirmish - while riddled with plot, logic and canon holes - beat the crap out of every Dominion War battle we'd seen to date.

I didn't mind it. I'm loosely curious what the plot/logic/cannon holes were though.
