I didn't pass my first time, either.  Practice a little bit more and you'll get a passing grade.  Considering it is just a pass/fail test that's all you need.

I failed it yesterday too man. Wasn't insta-failed but failed 3 out of 5 sections by a point each (our test consists of 5 sections of which you need to pass 4). Biggest killer was my 'Vehicle Management', I was a bit of a derp hillstarting and had a habit of coasting. My instructor never picked up that I did it (and so neither did I), but my examiner certainly did. Oh well! Everyone passes it sometime!

I was at a "left turn yield on green" intersection, and I misjudged how fast the oncoming traffic was moving, and ended up stuck in front of the line. The light stayed green the whole time, but still a fail.

Also, I drove too far under the speed limit, apparently... examiner said I was going 15 in a 25 zone (but IIRC the only time the speed limit was 25 was when there was no traffic behind me!), and another I was going 25 in a 35 zone (I think that might have been when I turned onto a new road and didn't know what the speed limit was).

Edit: And cars should be abolished!

dilmah, your test sounds retardedly complex.  after my sister failed twice and talked it up like crazy, my test was actually quite easy.  i did it in a mostly backwoods area instead of in the city, so that helped.  just drove around the back roads for about 10 minutes, and did a 3-point turn on a road i could have u-turned on if i wanted to.  no freeways, no parking/other random crap, DEFINITELY no "vehicle management."  what the hell is that about?  and no real set scoring system as far as i could tell either.  the examiner just decides if you pass or not at the end.  i ALMOST failed right at the end though, when i did that thing when you're turning right where you pull up next to the guy going straight so you don't have to wait for the light.  EVERYONE does this, including the driver's ed instructors and my parents, so i had NO idea it was technically illegal.

What? You get docked points for yielding in the intersection while the light is green? If the left-hand side is choke full of cars, there's no reason why that should be prohibited. In fact, that's about the only way I've figured out how to aggress a left turn in high-traffic.

That's hardly anything I would complain about (going 10 mph under the speed limit in speeds less than 60, on non-congested roads)...

Oh, that's because it IS. 'Vehicle Management' seemed to me as just some retarded way of being able to mark how many times one stalled. I WISH my test was that easy. I had to do three three point turns, reverse park on a hill, hillstart a number of times (even when it wasn't necessary apparently and lost points for overuse of the handbrake...) and then change lanes to one in front of a ****ing Mack Truck. Which, to no-one but my examiner's surprised, resulted in the truck driver become pissed off and a 'disruption to traffic'.
