I've never paid full attention to weddings I attend, and I always take great measures to mute the passing of my own birthday because I find it pointless. If I'm celebrating someone else's birthday, however, it gives me more energy, rather than drain it.

Oh. Schoolwork's always been easy for me once I get started. I never spend more then half an hour on my homework, even though each of my teachers give me some. And since I have a 40 minute second-to-last free period, the only homework I ever half is math.

Re                     Providence Campus Closed Feb. 10, 2010

Due to the prediction of heavy snowfall for tomorrow - Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 - the Providence Campus will be closed. All day and evening classes are cancelled.

Damn, I'm loving Providence!Doubly so; I don't think there's going to be much snow either. 4:45AM and nothing.

We're getting started on what could be 18-24" (45-60 cm for the metrically-inclined)  of snow here, on top of the 12" (30 cm ) we still have on the ground from this weekend's big storm.  God, I love nor'easters.

A big chunk of campus (the part that is mainly dorms, but includes the gym and the student center buildings) is running on generators stored in 18-wheelers. I got to see one get filled up with gas from a big gas carrier truck today.

And on the opposite end of the country: here in the southwest it only took 3-4'' for them to cancel morning classes.  

People who see maybe three snowfalls a year panic when snow actually happens.

We get like 1-3" of snow a year (usually in one or two goes maximum) and in the day and a half it takes for the snow to melt away, we have thousands of car accidents in the area. Le Sigh.
