For this reason, I've also written off this year's National Day Parade as corny and went back to my room.

This is the first national day I actually watched, and I'm surprised at how bad it was... I was looking forward to the military routine bit, but they completely ruined it by making the Singapore Civil Total Defense Force (read: girl scouts) stand in the same area as them. The Black Knights bit was probably the best bit, though they flew a bit high and had one hell of a lot of space. It looked impressive, but apparently shouldn't be that hard to do (they had a lot of time to compensate for any mistakes they made). The fireworks were also okay, if you ignore the fact that they fired them all up to the same spot, which meant that the smoke covered half of them up. Nothing new or that impressive this year.

The worst thing about this year's NDP, though, was that it was a complete disgrace when compared to what happened the day before.

I'll be going back to Ngee Ann Polytechnic this Tuesday to view the good Photography Assignments that my lecturer selected. It's a perfect excuse to meet up with my old schoolmate, return my library books and look for the August issue of the Top Gear magazine.

Skip it. Seriously. If you want total Marauder-powered ownage, go watch STC, some of the Pluto sequences or Rico's rampage through a hive with one. (God what I would have given to see one of duck Marauders plasma-walling everyone, wipe the damn taint from my mind.)

I had high hopes, I rather liked the way the Marauders moved at first, more mechanical then human, and they seemed to be suitably impressively armed. But the pyrotechnics sucked, you barely saw them moving around at all, and they get maybe 3 minutes of screentime if that.
