My US Military History class is the best class that could ever be taught. It's taught by a 19 year army veteran, supposedly around 7 years as an officer in the special forces. The first two weeks were all leadership/general army composition type stuff, now we're moving onto the American Revolution and leadership evaluations. The final exam is actually going to be a 6 day board game staged in south Iraq consisting of a battle between coalition forces and Iraqi insurgents. The hierarchy of leadership for the final exam battle is based off of what you do in class, usually influenced by grades, but mainly by what kind of work you do and the stuff you learn from the class (which is a lot more than is actually graded work). I'm working my way up the chain, but I'm still just an E-4. Course, there's only been one promotion opportunity so far.
I'd guess the reason that the class is so awesome is a combination of the topic of the course, the fact that the teacher is a cool guy, and the fact that the teacher knows how to teach really well.
