On the bright side, did complete a three-week long GIMP assignment (which I only started last week
), so that's a big relief. 
As a fellow GIMPer I am interested in what the assignment was.
I wouldn't consider myself a "GIMPer"... I can hardly do anything in that program.

Anyway, the project was this: take a logo, document, brochure, etc., and redesign it according to the design principles of visual communication (that is, the layout of the document, including text and graphics, and the positions and styles of such). Improve it, in other words. GIMP was the only tool we were allowed to use, which is fine, since GIMP is one hell of a powerful tool... you just need to know how to use it. And I don't so much...

Quite the learning experience for me.
