Just be sure you FOLLOW THE POST-OP INSTRUCTIONS! Rinse your mouth out regularly, don't use straws, etc.

It gets better.  Just keep your tongue AWAY from the holes where the teeth used to be!  Dry socket sucks, but it can be prevented if you can exercise some self control now.

What? I had 5 teeth removed
Didn't hurt, and I lost virtually no blood, the holes clotted within minutes O_o
4 adult and a milk (baby) canine (2 adults one one occasion, 2 adults + milk on the other, about a week apart), I just used the numb mouth opportunity to squeeze difficult spots without it hurting

How did the dentist go about it? did they wiggle it or just yank it out?

also, just find a distraction, go play video games or do something which requires a lot of attention.

it barely hurt and i took a pill so it doesn't hurt at all now, but i have been bleeding all day, and swallowing a lot of it in my sleep, which is making me feel sick

I had two wisdom teeth out when I was around 18.
 
I was a bit monged out for a week or two but it passed.
 
Smoking is a NO NO. As are crisps, nuts, tic-tacs and chewing gum.
 
 
 
Morphine and Valium helped a great deal though. Genuinely and seriously.

I had five wisdom teeth impacted in my jaw bone.  They had to be destroyed before they could be removed.  I do not remember the blood being a huge problem, though.  By the time I came to, my mouth was packed with gauze.  I do not remember many of the details, but I think I kept on changing the gauze out for a couple days.  Then, it was "pop a pill when you need one, son" and "keep your tongue away from those holes!" until they finally healed over.

Yes, five.  The fifth wasn't a fully formed tooth, but it was bone matter and it was definitely not supposed to be there.  Something left over from prenatal development.  And here I thought being a mutant was supposed to give me secret powers or sumptink.  [pout]

Today I didn't get nearly enough sleep before my morning calculus class.  So about 30 minutes into the lecture I was so tired I closed my eyes and within seconds hallucinated that I was watching the professor continue to lecture and write math gibber on the board. Suddenly he stopped, stared at me, and then the whole class looked at me, and then I opened my eyes and he was lecturing on while writing math gibber on the board.  And I looked at the clock and saw I still had over 3 hours of class left and was like AWWWWW.

Calculus is awesome, but staring at integrals for 4 hours straight is painful.

AND WHY CAN'T I HALLUCINATE ABOUT ZERO-G SPACE SEX GODDAMMIT
