My last birthday consisted of buying three bottles of booze (on my own dime) hanging out with a bunch of people I didn't want to hang out with, and ended with getting the **** beaten out of me by a 250 lb Hungarian, with a 90 lb old lady taking shots every now and then.

I told my job to make me work on this one.

Holy ****, I know this was a total **** trip to experience, but it makes for a badass story.

Mine have generally been pretty good; my mom has a fantastic recipe for buttercream frosting, so the cake is always delicious.  I'm in the middle of summer, so the first time I had something interrupting my birthday was when I was doing research in college.  Probably the coolest year was when we were down the beach during that week, and I was actually standing in the ocean at my time of birth.

It looks like any thoughts of getting student financing for Uni can go right out the window.

As it is, it looks like I'll be doing the first day of the academic year on my birthday next year. 

Opposite for me, last day of classes for the year is on my birthday. Not as nice as it sounds though, you spend the day finishing projects up and studying for exams.

My birthday is always near the start of the academic year and always on weekday.
