Drinking doesn't make you cool.  It does, however, serve as an excellent socialization medium, and as long as everyone is drinking, no one appears any more asshole-ish than anyone else.

EDIT:  I mean, if you're drinking by yourself, and then you go out and make an ass of yourself, you derserve to get laughed at.  That's not being contested.

I don't see the point in drinking. The only time I did was involving reasons for doing so other than the sake of drinking. Safe to say, those reasons didn't pan out as desired, so never bothered drinking again

Used to drink. It actually got boring.

Now I drink at events like Xmas, or social stuff, but wouldn't go out at the weekend to 'have a drink' specifically any more, if drink is involved, I'm not against it, but I wouldn't seek it out.
