Damn I love it when computer work goes EXACTLY as planned. Just finished swapping out the generic MaxPower pile of junk that was my computer's power supply for the last 6-8 months for a new Cooler Master. Seriously, I had pulled this thing apart, replaced one of the fans that was seized, spliced in the wires and just covered them with electrical tape, and boy did it run loud and hot.

Less than an hour spent, cramped micro ATX case with an oversized Radeon 4870 and a tall Arctic Freezer CPU cooler re-wired fairly neatly, computer powered on first try damn near silent with absolutely no fuss. Handled a simultaneous prime95 and furmark stress test flawlessly, with no crazy temperatures, no worrying voltage drops, no crashing or anything.

Now if only midterms went as smoothly as this.  :p

Uh! The one thing that I hated was spring was coming around and senoritis was kicking in MAJOR TIME! Good thing, I'm out of high school!  ;)

Major snowstorm (nor'easter) hit the Northeastern U.S. Me and three million other people without power, probably for days. At least I have heat (for the moment, anyway). And the Computer Science building has power, heat, and Internet access. :) And the algorithms midterm was last week. Always good to count your blessings, I guess.

To add insult to injury, apparently the CS department incurred the wrath of CloudFlare, so to sign in, I not only had to complete the captcha but also had to enable all cookies (including third-party advertisers') for some reason. :wtf:

We lucked out and only lost power for two hours yesterday.  That snow was a ***** to shovel, though...it was practically slush and weighed a ton.

I'm a little bit more south and closer to the sea here, so only an inch or two here and it has already all melted.

Yeah wasn't so much snow as wet slop that clung to trees and hauled them down all over the fricken power lines across the state.

I just received an SMS from my supervisor saying that our boss wants us to turn up in camp at 7.45 am tomorrow in full uniform. I wonder what happened during the six days I wasn't around. Our boss only orders us to turn up in uniform if we've done something very wrong.
