She's a bounty hunter yes, but still respects Adam. And no, she still somewhat takes orders from the Federation, and since it was their operation to begin with... she would have to comply in order to maintain her relation with the Federation

As for standing there when she saw Ridley, it's called PTSD. It was neat how they incorporated the emotional aspect related to when she was a child, showing that she is indeed affected by what Ridley did to her way back when

Don't forget that the suit has the ability to turn her into a ball the size of a large watermelon, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for the tech to be used for storage as well.

It doesn't always make sense, it just is. Afterall, how does someone find a Unicorn that shoots explosive rainbow farts at people on Mars? Not only that, why do dead players in GTA IV still breathe? Why don't people ever get cold in games that involve snowy levels. Why isn't there a "My hand is ****ing numb, I can't reload properly" where he proceeds to fumble about with the clip only to drop it in the snow having to wipe it clean with bare hands. How does sexy sleep wear protect you from a lightsaber in Soul Calibur IV? How does no sexy sleep wear, let alone clothing, protect you from a lightsaber in Soul Calibur IV... why in Call of Duty can you heal yourself after taking dozens upon dozens of bullets? He isn't Chimera. He can't heal himself like that. Why do the psychos in Borderlands wear gas masks? Why are their eyes blue? Why can't the great leaders in Civ Revolutions speak bloody English. Why is there no radiation after dropping a nuke upon an unsuspecting tourist in Mercs 2? Why the hell do I have a toblerone on my desk? Why is there an empty coke bottle on the coaster?

first night working on my cockpit script was less than productive. i did manage to fix all the bugs with the test models and any other problems with the mod data and i commited it to svn. then i got into the game and started looking for bugs. having some transparemcy issues with gauge textures causing bleedthrough from whatever is behind them. it looks ugly but only affects 2d stuff. this is a case of a new feature that lacks a scripting implementation. when they added alpha support to render targets, they neglected to give scripting a function to set blending modes. it should blend alpha instead of write alpha.

second bug is rather annoying, none of the mini-huds are working. minihuds are supposed to be drawn onto the camera textures, but for some reason they are drawing to the screen on some frames. they flicker and get in the way of gauges that are supposed to be on the hud, which gets very annoying. it also means i dont have any mini huds for turrets and probably not for guided missiles either. it also kinda sucks not having a crosshair for sniper scopes, which is making distance shooting with the howitzer rather difficult.

the 3rd bug, my player controlled turrets also stopped working. the turrets turn but they do not fire in the direction they point. this is probably a good thing since the player control of turrets are in dire need of a re-write. they use the ancient meathod, and not m!m's elegant new solution. i just dont know the proper usage of that system and the script he posted was stolen by a ninja. so much for learning by example. probably will need to figure that one out by reading a lot of engine code.

You may have missed my point. Her "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder" did not kick in when she fought him in Metroid/Zero Mission, Metroid Prime, and Super Metroid. Zero Mission and Super Metroid might can be dismissed because they are 2D games. You might be right, though, because she does just stand there the first time she sees Meta Ridley in Prime.

Well first of all, if you make video games too realistic, they become... not fun. Secondly, Link gets cold when you are in the mountains in Majora's Mask. So... thar.

Ridley never died officially until Super Metroid. Considering there are no games in between Super Metroid and Other M, I do not know to what you refer as "before". Furthermore, she wasn't emotionally distraught during any other encounters until Other M. Not only that, but there is very little to go off of based on character in relation to the games, so how can you say "out of character" when there isn't a firm basis to make that statement?

Considering that all the in-game stuff on Ridley (and I do mean all of it) in Metroid Prime indicates that he was dead and they ressurected him, and additionally that he's actually called Meta-Ridley, I'm pretty damn certain that he's died before then.

At the very least, died to the same extent as in any other game he dies in, considering he "dies" several times up until that point.

Basically, I don't buy the bull**** that Super Metroid's Ridley death was anything more significant than the other three.

My computer gave me a heart attack tonight.  Was playing UFO:Aftermath when the the whole thing locked solid with corrupted graphics.  did a hard reboot and the dam thing locked on identifying the graphics card, A restart later it makes it to windows and dies again, so I pull everything and reconnect the power and monitor the monitor, try again, boots ok so I plug in the USB keyboard and mouse and the thing locks.  open the side panel looks around, powers it up again, all fans spinning except I notice the second fan on the PSU is looking a little limp but i have no reason to think its a problem as its a long running thing.  Starts thinking to myself great, hopefully just a software issue otherwise I am screwed because I cant afford to replace anything hence the 7is yr old tech in there.  couple of hours later as i think about going to bed i power it up again and all seems well, hopefully it's just an overheat so ripping all the fans and heat sinks where possible tomorrow and giving them a good shake and hoover to make sure they all working properly, well CPU fan will stay in place if I cant find my tube of thermal compound.

Similar thing happened to my desktop over Christmas, had to pull the CMOS battery before it started to behave again. Of course after the initial graphic corruption and crash, it got to the point where it refused to even show the bios boot screen, so mine seems a bit different.
