Now, I don't profess to be an expert in visual arts or a gourmet chef, but I wouldn't say that the color of the substance in the pot is "white" or even a close approximation to the image on the box.  I should be able to say by tomorrow whether or not that's the color of salmonella, though.

You didn't put enough water in it! Your supposed to boil salted water, add macaroni shells to it, and let them cook until the macaroni is no longer crunchy. Once the macaroni is cooked, add the cheese sauce mix to the macaroni (and water), stir, and let simmer. "Sauce will thicken."

drain the pasta and mix with milk instead.  WAY better.

You idiots don't know how to make macaroni and cheese

Take the noodles, boil and cook to Al Dente
Remove from heat
Grate copious amounts of cheese
Have two cans of tomato soup (Campbell's works best)

Put some of the noodles into a casserole dish. Add some of the soup paste, and some cheese. Mix well
Repeat process until cheese, paste, and noodles are done. Add Parmesan cheese generously on top of the mixture

Have the oven preheated to 350F, place it dish into oven, let it bake for half hour or until preferred point

Well "White" cheddar is more appeasing than "whiter than standard cheddar cheese but not actually white."

deathfun, a recent recipe I had eaten called for more than copious amounts of "butter." Since I wasn't the one who prepared it, I couldn't say for sure... but I know for a fact that after the second bowl my heart was crying for me to stop there for the day.

We worked on a Kendo Flow Drill tonight, got a ways to go before we get here but on the way.  Then we rumbled down to an Irish Pub, I had NE Clam Chowder in a bread bowl, a Reuben with a side of laughter and great company.
