Congratulations Mura/IAZ!
I found out this morning that the specialist report first sent on my behalf regarding my peanut allergy resulted in me being reclassified to Class 4: permanently unfit for military service. This report however took my allergy out of context and said that I required an epipen, which I don't at all. I have a second specialist report to pick up tomorrow from another more sane doctor which I'll use to form the basis of my appeal on (peanut allergies ARE allowed, just not severe ones AFAIK).
I'm hoping the appeal goes through but if not, I'm not under any circumstances willing to enter a civilian career pathway. Studying abroad at a US College and applying to enter an AFROTC program (which medically I should be eligible for since my kind of allergy doesn't even require a waiver under US medical guidelines) is suddenly looking like less of a dream and more like a goal. The financial aspect my parents are willing to help out with (they were paying $20k AUD per year for my high school so I may be able to pay the balance out of my own part-time income) but college-wise I've got some work to do finding one.
