Maxtor was assimilated by Seagate years ago, and from my experience, neither company is capable of manufacturing a hard disk, back in 2000, that could last beyond 7 years. All the Maxtor hard drives my family's previous computers used clicked to death during the 4th year, and the only Seagate hard drive we ever had clicked off on the 7th.

The MacBook I'm using now runs everything off a Hitachi hard drive, and it has been for just over 5 years, so I'm interested to see how long it lasts before it snuffs it.

I also think a thread split may be in order if we're going to keep on talking about hard drives.

I drink copious amounts of coffee, and all I get is weak legs and trembling afterwards. No energy spike whatsoever, no hyperactivity, just... normality until I come down from it

Caffine is like an energy catylist - it doesn't give you energy, it just makes it make the reaction quicker.

That said, you may need to eat more foods packed with calories and starches.

Sugars are more or less instant energy, and enters the bloodstream faster if you let it dissolve in your saliva.

Starches last longer than sugars, but that's because they metabolize fairly slowly.

That said, whatever "energy" your actually getting from those caffeinated drinks is mostly from the sugars.

so one of my female friends from high school is engaged. to a girl. i NEVER picked up on that. in fact there were times i though she was trying to drop hints to me. :/

Long day for you?
I just spent eight hours in a dishpit from 5pm to 1am, had a free beer and free pizza, and got home from work at 2am

I was running around washing pans, doing water changes, cleaning copious amounts of cutlery, plates, bowls, ramicans, endeavours, wineglasses, boats, kid glasses and coffee mugs all ****ing day, only to end up doing a **** ton of inserts, scrubbing, washing, rinsing, wiping at the end of the day because our Chef is going Mr Clean on the restaurant

ONLY TO END BACK AT HOME TO HAVE SOME SCOTCH AND STAY UP FOR ANOTHER SEVERAL HOURS

Also cool on that caffeine note thingy. I'll have a bowl of pasta alongside my bar cup
