If you're going to buy diesel-electrics, buy Swede. They have really good ones. (Although the German Type 212 isn't a bad design either.)

If you have to buy nuclear, I think only France has ever sold theirs. (There is a possibility we might be convinced to part with some early LAs, though?)

Looking for a place to live over the summer using craigslist is oh so much fun. Sure, the sketchy listings are easy to spot, and often entertaining the first time you see them, but they tend to repeat and get old after that. I also have no interest in ones like "looking for a gay/male roommate": if the requirement in the title didn't tip you off, the request for you to send them a picture of yourself should. The really annoying ones, though, are those that look good until at the bottom of the listing it says "female preferred" or even "female only." At least some people are nice enough to list that in the title instead of my having to read the listing to find that out.

Besides, expressing those kinds of housing preferences/requirements is illegal in the U.S., although many of the ads do it, anyway. Taking the listings that interested me but excluded my type and flagging them as prohibited is all I can do to get back at the people who listed them, although I think it takes some number of flaggings before the listing actually gets taken down. Besides, not only would flagging discriminatory housing listings be a full-time job, if they all actually got taken down, there'd be hardly anything left.

I recorded audio at a small concert for a local band tonight. While there I obtained a meal. Said meal consisted of curried chicken salad, which was yummy, some watermelon and strawberry, which were very yummy, and a bit of some sort of cake.

five hours, one very enjoyable musical esperience, and forty minutes in the bathroom later...

I have decided to never eat curried chicken again. Gleh.
