Not by a long shot! I just don't even understand the conservative views towards it. Hell, I don't understand how people whom I've known almost literally for 10 years and been good friends with can be so ****ing dumbarsed and racist. does. not. compute.

So far so good. Pregnant lady gave us some grief (proxy by husband, not bad regardless, established some parameters, good to go) and a cop drive by which ended quite well

EDIT: Well that was a fantastic party. Had another talk with the neighbor and the cop, but both ended passively enough

Driving to work on the interstate. Raining. Driver side windshield wiper starts to struggle, then breaks completely. Flops off to the side and now wrapped around to the side of the car. Had to exit the freeway and make it a mile or so to the nearest garage by leaning over to the passenger side to see.

After getting that fixed at the shadiest auto shop I've ever seen in my life, I finally went to the bank to open a savings account, which I've needed to do for the past year and a half. Deposited most of my cash to the new account. Went to the store from there - cash only because their card reader system was down.

finally making headway into my games backlog. STALKER SOC continues the trend of seemingly great games knocked down several pegs by some utterly retarded bug or design feature. in this case, the horrendous head bob and the corrupt saves. found a mod to fix the head bob, no luck so far on finding a solution to the saves other than don't use them.

Squeeeeaked past the body fat percentage test at the recruitment office today. I now have an appointment for a physical on Tuesday, upon the completion of which I will be formally enlisted, though I will not take the oath or ship out for BCT for several months. In mid-January, I pack up for Fort Benning, Georgia for nine and a half weeks of basic. From there, I will be going to Fort Bragg, South Carolina for ten weeks while I undergo my advanced training in Civil Affairs.

Since the name "civil affairs" isn't very descriptive: I am going to be the guy who talks to native populations as liason and negotiator. I'm technically enlisting as a reservist, but the likelihood of activation and/or deployment is high for that MOS.

Woo hoo progress!
