I have to go back to waking up at 6 AM tomorrow after learning to enjoy sleep again, boo hoo.

Pretty good prospecting today. A few pickers and lots of colors. I think I'll return to this spot again and check it out further. Not bad for a little creek in northern Virginia!

Discovered can't play WiH R2 due to sub-par video hardware. Commence disappointment.

Adding to that disappointment (mostly because I won't have time to fix said sub-par hardware): T-minus seven days from ship date to basic training.

also, i ****ing HATE my computer's BD drive for reading DVDs. i'm going on 30 minutes now installing this 12 gb game. how can they call it a 16x drive if it never even passes 6x?

In unrelated news, today I visited the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum out by Dulles Airport, where they have the space shuttle Discovery. I got all misty eyed seeing it. :'-) Lots of other amazing aircraft and spacecraft to be seen there, too.

Yep, I took photos!

I was there with the family several years ago not too long after it opened, so we got to see Enterprise instead of Discovery, but it was still amazing. It does give you a bit of a chill standing right next to the Enola Gay, doesn't it? I think the coolest little factoid I saw in there was that the Blackbird had completed its final flight from California to DC in all of two hours.

Maybe I'm thinking of a different Air & Space Museum.

The one I went to had various species of cacti outside their entrance, with nameplates in from of them identifying them. They also put a nameplate reading "Stealth Cactus" in front of a completely empty patch of land.

They also had a "stealth bomber" exhibit set up inside that was nothing more than the landing gear of a plane, arranged as though it were holding up an actual plane.

I saw the Enterprise on the Intrepid in NYC during Air Force week. That was an awesome day. We got a tour that day all around the ship, even on to a few helicopters parked there.
