Well I plan on working in primary/elementary schools so due to England being a Nanny state, I need to be trained and have a bit of paper saying that I'm certified to work in a classroom. And also due to most of the teachers in my area being overworked and underpaid, I'm most likely going to be solely responsible for whichever class i get put with.

i spent the last 8 hours trying to get avrstudio to ****ing upload a blink program to my attiny84. apparently the thing i upload to flash gets garbled and when i do a flash dump the resulting binary doesnt match the thing i wanted to upload. at first i thought my build events were screwey, but then when i tried to do a manual upload it looks like its working and then verification fails. im wondering if either my chip is bad (its not a fuse problem, those have been verified and are what they should be) or avrstudio is using a different binary format.

turns out my avr programmer doesnt produce as much voltage as i thought it did. i thought it, being a usb device, output the usb 5v wire directly. instead it seems to drop the voltage to about 2.8 and outputs that. my mcu, being clocked at 12 mhz, is just completely in a brown out state and thats why it refuses to accept and run code. its now running the blink program, though abit slower than i expect. next step is to figure out how to use this vusb library.

I'm exploring ways to get the music out of this game again. I did it a few years back in DOSBox by recording MIDI while playing the game, but it didn't record every track completely.
