Girlfriend's sister and her husband split, and he took the TV and PS3 with him. They've got two young boys (7 and 5) who will be staying with her who both liked playing games together, and who haven't been able to since. She really doesn't have the money to replace them right now.

So I'm donating my spare (salvaged) TV and my old PS2 to them, and will likely be putting together some old computer parts so they have something to use for Netflix and the like.

Not really accurate here, the benefits and profit-sharing are really good.

Pretty much. If not allowed sufficient time to rest/relax, the general fatigue of the worker builds up and their productivity plummets.

There's a penalty system for business to discourage overworking their employees. For example, Texas has a 40 hour work week, with any logged hours greater than this equal to 1.5 times your normal pay. Not only does the business have to pay extra for you working, but they have to pay extra for you working at an increasingly poorer rate.

 Also, management apparently has a crazy thing where their earnings are capped to 40 hours, meaning, they won't get paid for any more hours that week. Often times they still have to work 50 to 60 hours, depending on the state of the business.

I've been watching another discussion between some politicians on TV and just couldn't continue because of the amount of hate and contempt shown by all of the participants. Reading this forum is a like a breath of fresh air. If you ignore the occasional flaming, it's a really nice place. Or maybe I've just explored the wrong side of the Internets before.
