my oldest cat had another mini stroke. seems shes lost some function on her left side. she can still walk, but she limps and drags her claws on the ground (which is really annoying). she spends hours walking in circles and sometimes looses her footing. she also has trouble holding her head up straight and seems to have trouble locating sounds and may have lost more of her vision. she has had them before, but has always snapped back from it.

she seems too stubborn to die though. most animals just lie down and wait to die. this one seems to walk aimlessly in circles for no other reason than to spit in the face of death. shes already earned nicknames like ol' scrapes, and zombie kitty. if she looks like shes given up then i will see about putting her down. shes 13 and any treatments will likely be well out of our ability to afford.

Tried to explain positive racism to someone today.  Got loudly told I obviously didn't know what racism was, and that positive racism is a sophist term designed to make everyone else sound as racist as I am.

"Positive" racism is not a positive thing.  A positive 'ism' is one that isn't on the surface of things derogatory or obvious, but still contributes to discrimination and prejudice.

A good example of a 'positive ism' would be the concept that women should be protected.  While on the surface of things it sounds like a good idea (be a gentleman, etc., etc.), it presupposes that women are unable to take care of themselves and need to be protected, which is obviously neither true nor (ironically) a positive attitude to have.

I've come to accept that perpetual misery is a thing. It isn't like I think I deserve it, we all deserve to be happy. I am just incapable of it
However meeting a gay coworker then you both tag teaming (sounds so wrong) against other coworkers in regards to sexual remarks and overall homosexuality is amazingly hilarious. Takes the edge off thoughts and makes the day a little bit better
