As for that gal you fell in love with well, never go into something like that with problems. You will then develop a relationship of need rather than want and it'll most likely just not end well for either of you (going by your misery remark)

had that happen several times. she will string you along for a few months, get tired of it, and find someone new on the side while you are desperately trying to save up for a plane ticket. your other option would be to sell all your **** and go now before she has a chance to change her mind. of course then you risk getting shot by her husband.

Word of caution:  if both your financial/employment situations are as you described, I wouldn't go booking any flights or trips across the border to see each other as you could both be refused entry to each others' countries with your current financial status.  Immigration on both sides looks for financial ability to support oneself during the stay, significant ties to home country (and therefore reason to return on date stated), and intent to return home.

Though I'm sort of wondering a bit... if she was happily married for that length of time...
What changed? Surely it isn't just because you two fell in love (or maybe it is and you're some pretty rad dude. God I feel dirty for saying rad and dude now). People don't generally go out there making connections like that if there isn't *something* going on that drove them to that end

So I suppose I'm wondering about the circumstances which led to all of this. Afterall, those are pretty important in deciding just what you ought to do next

Falling in love is one thing. Being in love is another. Both however are only made important by the circumstances

Example: Husband dies. Wife cries. Fellow comes in for comfort and jives (I'm trying to rhyme here shut up). She sees his eyes. They become paralyzed. Love is in the skies. Turns out it's all lies. He's into guys.

Okay, that's enough of that. Basically I'm making circumstance of vulnerability leading to connections which may seem true but aren't really because they're semi forced into that situation of connection.

Dumping a boyfriend is one thing, but if I knew that a girl had up and left a committed husband, with no abuse or anything involved, I'd be afraid that she'd get tired of me and find some hot guy elsewhere. Not a certainty (I phrased it rather strongly at first) but a significant possibility.
