And I'm willing to fight to the death to defend that view. Nay, make it, fight BEYOND death..I'll even bet my eternal soul!
I'm dropping the subject. You happy now?
Nice.
Dropping the subject is not the same as telling the other guy he is right.
It's more like "I know I'm right and I'll defend that position, but now is not the time or the place...so I won't talk about...for now...here."
Common good and all that jazz.
Defending a position implies an active plight to prove just how your position is correct, not just ignoring everyone with a contradicting viewpoint. While on blue-moon rarity, someone may genuinely end an argument because they see it's getting out of hand, 99% percent of the time it's just a convenient way to give up without the other side winning. In fact, it's become
so common, that the other side practically
has won when that happens. Noting your contradictions in your post, we are lead to believe that this situation is a member of the vast majority of times (well actually I'm not sure if this is ad hominem or not, but I'm not the greatest at this).
And given the fact that the HLP admins already won and the quoted post was your last serious attempt at defending yourself, there is really no reason to monkey you because you've already subconsciously admitted defeat and haven't actually done anything wrong since the debate ended. Of course, that said, I'm not quite sure why I'm saying this, unless I'm wrong and we actually
haven't won, which leads me to believe that the victor of debates is highly subjective, and while one side may appear to be pretty much dead, the debate isn't over until both are satisfied that they've done all they can do.
Thus, it must be asked: Can the admins monkey trashman for failing at logic?
...

EDIT:
It'll be interesting to see what he (Trashman) thinks of his own posts a few years from now. I wonder if maturity will change his viewpoint on his behavior?
If he's anything like a normal person, then he'll think he's the dumbest person alive. If
anyone doesn't think they were an idiot a year or two ago, then they're probably not learning enough. Goodness knows
I was stupid back then, and I'll likely think the same in the coming years.
