Stunning trailer for an obscure game
I'm not usually the excitable kind, but this is one of the finest game trailers I've seen. Not only does the game-play look interesting, but the way it's presented is unlike anything I've seen before.

The game is called "Mirror's Edge" and apparently it's coming out for PS3/360/PC late this year.

Wow, that does look pretty sweet. And I like the art style, it's like the first time in a long time I've seen a city that didn't look like it was destroying itself.

Re: Stunning trailer for an obscure game
So, you run up walls, make amazing jumps, do hand to hand combat, and occasional guns combat?

Right.  So why did they change Trinity into an ugly asian woman?

In first person. So, frankly, no.

I thought you were just being an ignorant moron, but you're right, she's not that good looking.
I think it's less about Trinity and more about emulating these people who run around and do back flips off buildings and jump up corners onto roofs and **** like that . . . forget what that "sport" is called.

Parkour.

Actually, reading the Wikipedia page, this game sounds like it's gonna be really cool, and pretty unique.

Anyone who's watched District B13 (Banlieu 13) will instantly see the potential in this game. The fact that they're not taking the obvious path and making it 1st person gives me hope.

At worst it will suck, and no big loss. But at least they're trying something new.

Have you ever played as an Alien in Alien Vs Predator! First person, running up walls, across ceilings. That kind of thing???

Hey, third-person isn't a death knell, take Assassin's Creed for instance! The feeling of being able to scamper over everything, climb up buildings in a single bound, and get to the most ludicrously high places in the world as easily as if you were walking to the fridge was still perfectly visceral for me. Granted, doing this in first-person is without doubt going to blow that out of the water, but i'm just saying that third-person is still a good compromise.

Aye, that kind of thing. Though it looks like they're adding some details and touches that'll really spice it up -- arms pumping faster and faster as you run, head bobbing, that kind of thing.
