So, what faction in the FreeSpace universe do you like the most?

I picked SOC, GTVA - Vasudans and Other. Cause I really can't see my third vote going anywhere. The Vasudans I like cause they're honorable (more or less), and are competent. Can't say the same for GTVA - Terrans. Or intel, for that matter. SOC because they're the ones who always risk their lives out in secret.

Pirates... Aren't a faction. Noone cares about them for more than 1 mission in canon. And I honestly HATE the idea that there could be pirates in the FS universe. Well, more pirates than that mission in Silent Threat.

Seriously... Pirates in FreeSpace could be taken down in 1 sweep. They have no way to properly recover after an attack. And if they get attacked by the leading superpowers ( GTA, PVN or GTVA ) they're gone. For good.

I choose GTVA- Terrans, Shivans and Ancients.

And both got great stories.

Come to think of it the GTVA is pretty similar to the Daleks. The intel entry says "BETAC dismantled the governments of the Terran blocs and recognized the General Assembly, the Security Council, and the Vasudan Imperium as the supreme authorities of Terran-Vasudan space." That's more or less stating "THE GTVA IS SUPREME! ALL INFERIOR GOVERNMENTS WILL BE DISMANTLED!! DISMANTLE!! DISMANTLE!!"

BETAC. Exactly why BP had such an ending. They really did not have another choice. Sol's government was illegal to the GTVA. Oh, and it was High Command's orders, so normal GTVA is all fine.
