I'm back alright!!! Hehee.....man...field camp for ten days in the jungle is terrible...my boots are covered with dried up mud....the mosquitos there are commandos..they can bite even through cloth...good thing we were given malaria pills ever Wenesday...

Singapore. But the training camp for recruits is actually on an island called Pulau Tekong north east of Singapore. Somewhere between Singapore and Malaysia.

You can check it out on some web site I think that feature detailed maps of the area.

There is a risk of malaria because the camp is actually surrounded by dense forests and we have to go into these areas for field camp. Our field camp which lasted ten days just finished yesterday.

Those malaria pill aren't so great are they? I had to take those once...man those were nasty!:mad2:

Actually, the malaria pills are tasteless. We just drink it down with water. Very small pill. I even tried swallowing one without water. No sweat!:p

The mosquitoes remind me of my visits to India; the little buggers are literally all over the place. I have to use all sorts of mosquito-repellent things and take similar malaria tablets before going there. (along with practicing my mad swatting skillz )

Oh well....just be careful of mosquitoes with black and white strips. They are the ones which carry the Dengue(sp?) fever virus...
