Pfff. They all suck when compared to the awesome majesty of Differentiation.

Power tower and hyperexponential functions in six dimensions rule all. :D n-circle epicycloids and hypocycloids are also nice.

Here is a specific graph that looks interesting: (2-var combination of power-towers, normal powers and trig functions)
(x²-y²)^(y³/x³) = (sin(x³) cos(y³))^(cos(x²) sin(y²))

A nice power tower one: (3-var)
x^x + y^y + z^z - sum( 2ªxª , a->0 to (x²-|x|)/x ) - sum( 2ªyª , a->0 to (y-|y|)/y ) - sum( 2ªzª , a->0 to (z²-|z|)/z ) = 1

Try finding integrals for those.:D:D

You know, the FOJ will probably win that suit, since Thunder's idea is practically the same thing as Shrike's idea but in reverse...:D

Wow it's geek central!

Unfortunately I'm the kind of person who wishes he was smart enough to understand half of it which is probably far worse than being a geek :D

Geek wannabe eh?

Out of all of those (minus no functions at all which are the best :D) I prefer the regular function since...I HAVEN'T LEANED ANY OTHERS YET! :D So since I can't do them I don't like them ;)

And I too like adding food to my belly. :)

Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

Just brought this topic back up because I was able to acquire a copy of Mathematica 3.0 just today (from the IMF staff library); this thing is just incredible. It was able to do just about every integral I could throw at it (except for the x^x one, but I don't know of anything that can do that), solve a bunch of really hard 4-variable partial differential equations in less than a second (which would have taken me months), and do some very nice implicit 3D plots in spherical coordinates. I will definitely upgrade to version 4 soon, which is the latest one. If you're into math, I would definitely recommend this package.:yes:

Oh BTW here's a graph of the first equation up there: (x²-y²)^(y³/x³) = (sin(x³) cos(y³))^(cos(x²) sin(y²))
(yes, it is only one equation :D)

Zoomed in view: first quadrant, origin is at the bottom-left corner

The fun part is finding a derivative and an integral for it...:D (have not been able to get an exact indefinite integral, or the solution to dy/dx=f(x,y) here, but it might still be possible; going to keep working on that one)

You did not already know that? :D:D:D

Actually, this math stuff, along with computer games, lego models, mechanical engineering and astrophysics pretty much makes up my entire life. :D

Anyone think they can integrate that equation up there? I started with the usual rule for power-towers, ln()'d both sides, and from there attempted to use some trignometric identities to simplify the thing. Going to work on it some more later today, since it would be neat to know the area within one of those small circles...;)
