I will not judge the movie by the trailers, but SO FAR it looks like the Enterprise in a Firefly/ Andromeda/ BSG/ Star Wars/ Bad Boys movie with a light I Robot touch.

I though it was great, but one thing bothered me. In the original startrek episode "A Piece of the Action", Kirk obviously does not know how to use a clutch. Yet in the trailer he seems to be able to handle that car quite well.

I found the bit near the beginning with Kirk and the cop to be somewhat...unnecessary and confusing.

It means he apparently got into trouble a lot when he was a kid. Which actually kind of creates an inconsistency since in the books when he was about that age he was on a different planet at the time.

Well, beings that there really aren't any wheeled cars on any other planets and when it shows Kirk later on as he looks at the Enterprise in basically the same location, well... Yeah, this is Earth.

I see they gave the Enterprise quite a remodeling job. Part of me likes it and part of me doesn't. It looks even newer than the refitted Enterprise.

So, it will be almost a year before this movie comes out? By that time they have to release many more trailers to keep the hype up, which probably means we have seen the best scenes before the movie even comes out.

And it is still difficult to see Sylar as Spock. It's just spooky.
