That's why it was so hilarious. Also, there were a lot of newbs that started brown-nosing an0n in hope of getting moderator powers under his new reign over HLP, which was equally hilarious.

Uh, no.  We had up-to-the-minute backups; I quadruple- and quintuple-checked that with Styxx.  The problem was that Gamespy had a server issue which prevented us from actually running the forum restore function for a month.

Though I acknowledge it could have all been avoided if I had been smart enough to hide the forums instead of actually deleting them.
