yeah, the best thing about christianity is, that they give you a bunch of holidays, which means a couple of more days, with no school. Yay.

I don't bet. But I would win - especially against someone who doesn't know how to use the 'quote' button. :p

As for the best part of Christianity - well, let's see here...

∙ Heaven forever
∙ Holidays for a few days

Let me see that one again...

∙ Heaven forever
∙ Holidays for a few days

I wonder. ;)

If you take everything that the church considers a sin, I don't think there's a single person on Earth that's going to heaven... :p

I've sinned. Everyone's sinned. But the whole idea behind Jesus' death on the cross is that through it, we have forgiveness of sins, if we believe in Him.

And as far as proving the "Heaven forever" part, you won't get scientific proof - that's why it's called faith. But look at it this way: You've got nothing to lose, and everything to win. :)

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

I know, I had a thorough catholic education. But it's not just believing - it's believing and doing your best to follow his teachings. :)

I know that too - that was only a joke, and I thought everyone would get it. All religions require a leap of faith, and that's probably the hardest thing for everyone to do. Since you talk with Setekh a lot, as you said several times, I guess he might have told you about my own personal beliefs.

No offense, but I don't really consider the run-of-the-mill catholic as a true christian... IMHO they've deviated from what the Bible says so much.... bah, it makes me sick.

And no, Steak didn't tell me about your beliefs - at least, not that I can recall...

Again, no offense, but go read the Bible. Then tell me that worshipping and praying to Mary is Biblical.

No offense taken, my family is catholic - that doesn't mean I am. And indeed, they deviated a lot from the original christians and, as far as I'm concerned, they're not worshipping God, but a bunch of idols created for their own convenience.
