Sometimes you stumble across a pic you just have to share. So who wants to take a crack at modelling this thing? :D

Mmmm, you know AFAIK they never actually produced stats for that thing?  I was gonna send in a pic of a model done like that with stats and have it printed by Fanatic.

*cough* Anyhow, that's the remiscing of my BFG days aside...

BTW, is there a levelshot tag equivalent here? I realize the pic is a bit on the huge size...

That looks very detailed but incongruous; a strange mixture of medieval and futuristic parts. :p:D

There is no LVLSHOT at the moment, but the tables resize dynamically so it doesn't mess the rest of the thread up if theres one wide image in there...

Oh - and nice ship!

I personally don't like this style of ship, because they look very inclined to fall apart and randomly spurt out steam, in space
Anyways if anyone models that, I'll want to see it :)

Looks god-awful ugly, IMO.  And not in a good way.

Such a design is taking Orcs and Humans too far. Nobody in his right mind would design this.
It came from outer space! What? Dunno, but it's going back on the next flight!

For my part, I just love this design. At least, it's not another SW kind of design, the only thing that could come close to this kind of design is the event horizon, maybe. Anyway, I think this kind of designs are brilliant :ha:

I have an open mind for space ship designs, afterall I do love anime

that's why IMO, that looks good... or even better, how would I say... majestic

but, I agree in one point with other members.... it would be a modeling nightmare :shaking:
Habeeb it...

meuh non, there's miniatures of it, if you can do it in real, there's no pb doing it as a model. actually, the thing isn't that complex. the pb would be to keep a low polycount. ( of course, i'm not talking about doing all the little statues etc :p )

well if one is going to model something, one should model the WHOLE thing :p

that would be the nightmare (the statues and all)

It looks TERRIBLE (as in the design)

bleurgh.

To model...wouldnt be so hard.  A load of instanced shapes, mostly, with a taj mahal as the bridge :p

Heh, it indeed would be quite hard job to model. Some polygons would be needed, and if you'd texture it... ;)

You lie, Styxx!
