Rawr bukkit has 1.25 recommended build out....ages ago actually o,o

Is we going to update? Since there's probs not going to be another update until 1.3 which is a while away, so this will be last update for a while.

EDIT: Updated to 1.2.5 to test out another server...and it seems I can still join the HLP server. I'm confused x.X

1.2.4 and 1.2.5 play nice.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

You are running it or the server is running it? Wouldn't have noticed an update without the 'client out of date' message x.x

Both, as mentioned earlier in the thread, 1.2.4 and 1.2.5 play nice :P

Well, I began it regardless. :p It's just a hub for the time being, centered at 0,0, and located around 160y. I considered placing it way up at 250 or so, but you wouldn't be able to see the ground from that height while riding the rails. If that doesn't matter, then the rails can angle up as they depart the hub.

Loved how you completely dwarfed that guy's tower by making the rail dive into the ground right in front of it. Certainly puts his work to shame.

Tho I have to admit the view when you're travelling on it is pretty good...you just need to think harder about it's placement.

Turning my throen room into an obstacle course is funny...well, not really.

How about getting rid of all the stuff you built? I don't want to spend half an hour cleaning up your mess in my house.

I can't win. :p I put it there because tommoex didn't want to see the skyrail going past his magnificent treehouse (not being facetious there - it really is quite the sight, and a shame that skyrail travellers won't be able to see it). The tower you mention was done by one of tommoex's friends - someone I've never seen on the server. If he complains, I'll come to an understanding with him - just like I have so far with tommoex and TrashMan. :)

My goal with this skyrail is not to antagonize anyone at all. There are 3 main goals:

1) To help people access the more distant areas of the server. This is not in a sense of "Let's build everywhere!", but more in a sense of "There's areas out there that are devoid of life and ripe for one of us lone hermits to settle-down in - let's make that feasible." The stations will only be every 1000 blocks (which is the distance from spawn to New TrashMania, for example), so it's not going to be a dense network. :)

2) To be a predictable method of transportation. As much as possible, the rails will go in the cardinal directions out from spawn, with stations once a kilometer, as mentioned above. This is to help people get to a general area - it's completely up to the people residing there if they want to connect their local skyrail station with their homes or creations. These rails won't twist and turn in unpredictable directions, so if you want to go east, you simply hop on the rail pointing in that direction. Don't get me wrong, the existing rails are great for sight-seeing and as a naturally-grown network - it's just hard to figure out where you're actually going on them.

3) To allow people to see the sights while they're travelling. This is one of the reasons why it's a skyrail and not a subway or Nether-rail. The latter are ok when you know the name of your intended destination - you simply follow the signage and end up there. The skyrail will be for those people who look at the dynmap and say "I want to go west."

Turning my throen room into an obstacle course is funny...well, not really.

How about getting rid of all the stuff you built? I don't want to spend half an hour cleaning up your mess in my house.

Done. For the public record, myself, Pred, and tommoex are the guilty ones. :D I think tommoex took a video of the process...

Heres what really happened on the day
The recording was 38gb or so, but I cut it down to 100mb, and we did agree to clean it up, looks like Sandwiched has already done so, but it was all in good heart well... *cough cough Sandwiched.

Rawr found a way to fix the messed up biomes in the server.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRI5cyC56YI&feature=related

:>

Would reallyyyyyy love to have my base (-171,797) turned from swamp biome into Forest, and trashman probs wants the same for trashmania.
Howevers note the bit about backing up the world first.
(EDIT: See my post on May 7th)

EDIT: Tutorial seems kinda meh...will take a look when I have time for it and see if I can transcribe the gist of it to here so you don't have to endure the average film making. Don't follow the tutorial word for word else you'll change the entire server into Forest biome.
EDITEDIT: Nvm tutorial seems clear enough actually...the text is more important than the stuff he's moving around on his tiny screen.

There's a little spot near my house that I'd probably want moved away from desert, since it makes the grass look fugly and dead, but that's way down my priority list, so I'd only ask it of qaz if it was just like a 30-second process to change it. :p

There's a mine/small food store just off the coast if you take the path I used. The mine is very mineral rich.
