Dear Fanatic Freespace... People:

I am currently working on the model for the GTVX Gorgon Array Frigate.  It's basically several Homeworld and Freespace Ship parts grouped into an awsome model.  I'll work on the model and post some screenshots as soon as I get home from work.

It's supposed a newer version of the prototype used in Derelict.  GTVA improved it.

It looks exactly like a Taiidan ion cannon frig with a Raider Ion array frig's little wings. Basically a perfect ripoff

3 things:

1.It's Ion Cannon frigate, not frigalot!

2.There are no freespace parts on that thing.

3. That would belong in a HW MOD better than a FS one. All it is, as stated in the preceding post, is an ion cannon frigate with the turanic raider's Ion beam acceleration "wings"

This model is still tentative.  The textures are still Homeworld textures, not Freespace 2 textures.  You'll have to wait at least one week for me to finish this thing.  A meson reactor will be added later, and I'm also planning on replacing the unabridged Taiidan Ion Frigate with a blend of the Zephyrus and the Ion Frigate.

Edit:  And What the Heck is "A-1 SUPAR"?

IF you were going to use the Raider's Arrays, you would have to make them be able to close up and open up.
The primary reason for the arrays closing is to reduce stress damage during rotation.
That Ion Frigate still gives me chills when I see it.

I know thats a destroyer. I'm a die-hard HW fan.
I could give you the definitions of every single HW ship..... but I'll only do a few....

"Skaal-Tel" Destroyer- The seond most feared Taiidan ship, next to the Qwaar-Jet Heavy Cruiser. Named after the dangerous Kharakian predatorial cat, hunted to the near edge of extinction.

"Qwaar-Jet" Heavy Cruiser- The single most powerful ship in the entire Taiidan fleet. Rightfully named after the Kharakian god of pain and suffering. Though having met its match with the Hiigaran "Avatar" Heavy Cruiser and the Soomtaw "Archangel" Dreadnought, it was lost none of its fearful reputation. When a Heavy Cruiser shows up on the scene, things get really quiet, really fast.

Hiigaran "Avatar" Heavy Cruiser: If Hiigaran pilots see Fleet Command as a goddess, then the Avatar is her divine wrath on the mortal plane. Having been derived from research into extremely heavy guns (each about half the size of an entire frigate), the Avatar packs a more deadly punch than any Hiigaran vessel in production. With four frontal ion cannon turrets, this vessel could easily destroy a frigate in a matter of seconds.

Soomtaw "Archangel" Dreadnought: As the war against the plague known as the Beast raged on, Soomtaw Fleet Command desperately needed new warships in production. With the time required to research tech for the Avatar cruiser, it was obvious that there would be nothing left of Soomtaw by the time one full research cycle would be complete! After taking deep scans of Bentusi tradeships, Soomtaw engineers finally were able to replicate the bindings needed to create a vessel of comparable power. After many failed attempts, Engineering finally broke through with the Archangel Dreadnought. With forward missile banks, dual 360 degrees ion cannons, and many energy cannons, the Dreadnought is easily the most powerful in the known Galaxy.

Well ive never been into space byself... but I dont think their is a g-force without gravity... but I might be wrong, been a while since ive been in physics

G-forces are what keep you plastered in the back of your seat while the roller coaster does a loop.

G-Forces is nothing more than SIMULATED GRAVITY!

G-Forces can be applied ANYWHERE!  Gravity is NOT a required element in any case!

In fact in many sci-fi shows (Such as Babylon 5) they spin or rotate ships to provide G-forces within the rotating area.  Which simulates gravity!  (And required to prevent muscle and bone degredation after a period of 3 months or so.)

The further out something is from the center of rotation, the higher the G-Force on that object.  So if the frigate suddenly decided to turn around there would be of shearing force caused by the G-forces applied along the length of the panels.
