Except you don't have to ask for a suggestion to get one, nor was anyone trying to force him to use a different name. If you make a topic about a ship without a dead-set name, then you can be damned sure people are going to suggest things about the ship/name even if the creator doesn't ask, else why make a topic, usually a method of conversing with others?

Anyway, interesting choice of a name. Is there a specific reason why you chose that name or you just thought it sounded good.
The name seems a little out of context with the Shivans but I don't really care that much.

BTW I really like it and looking forward to progress. Kinda reminds me of a Stars Wars ship, I can't remember what it's called though.

The reason i picked Kirin is twofold.
For a start, saying "SF Kirin" has a nice ring to it.
And secondly, the ship itself is most resemblant to an upside down manticore. Which led me onto looking up the names of mythical creatures.

No not any Tie, but that's a moot point because you clearly aren't influenced by whatever I'm thinking about.

looks cool, but it does not look Shivan, it's way too organic, it looks a lot more like Vasudan with Terran influences than Shivan.
