In an alternate Blue Planet-continuity, the War in Heaven never occured. The UEF was aware of the threat the GTVA poses and prepared for a daring strike.
Soon after the reunion between Sol and the rest of the Galaxy, the Federation striked back and pushed the pitiful rest of the Expeditionary Force back through the node. While the GTVA gathered for a new attack, the UEF invaded Delta-Serpentis and suceeded in conquering the system. Even more worse, a powerful and charismatic politician convinced the entire Ross-128 system (and even the local military) to join the UEF-war effort. But that was not a very surprising message. Most of the Lost Generation wants to return to their womb now that the Delta-Serpentis-Sol jump node is functionable. While the GTVA has the superior firepower and many brave terrans who stand to the alliance, they are facing an impossible situation. Another attack against the UEF would cause even more terrible revolts and the economy must now prepare for a two-front war.
During these dire days, the GTVA must face another conflict, which already lasts nearly a decade. The war against the Greystoke-Syndicate (former known as Pirate Confederacy), a powerful network of black markets, corruption, smuggle, piracy, mercenaries and other scum. Even anti-vasudan terrorists and separatists have gathered around the Syndicate. Now that the GTVA is weakened, the Syndicate can proceed with it's plans to gather even more power....
And you, pilot, are in the middle of this conflict while being observed by the powers that rescued you in the last moment.
