Hate the treason...

The inspiration for this render comes from "Solo Command," a Star Wars novel (obviously :D). Mainly it's an excuse to try out the X-wing model found here and the laser effect. ;)

A version without the words is available here.

Nice, but I'd do 3 things

1. make the stars smaller
2. add motion blur
3. NOT save as GIF. JPEG!

I was gonna do this but it was after I had everything set up how I wanted it...'twas only a matter of time :o

No difference in quality, but a .GIF was smaller for this picture, that's why I chose it

The lasers need a brighter centre - yellow... they look like polygons to me at the moment (glowy polygons I admit...).

Other than that, funky!

title taken by one of Steak's renders...nice though, all my suggestions have already been taken: motion blur, blur on the lasers to make them look somewhat glowy...

Er, that's on purpose..."Hate the treason" because Wedge is getting shot at, but "Love the traitor" because the pilot who's shooting at him has been brainwashed to do it.

Update:

The right side laser won't glow for some reason, and I still need to figure out a better way to do stars in A:M.
Will have an updated version with motion blur ASAP

Ooooooo I remember this part when the Twi'lek (oh what's his name I forgot) starts shooting at Wedge cuz he's a brainwashed Imperial spy and all the nonhumans are getting brainwashed and stuff. He says something like "Wedge has a wooden leg" right?

Anyway, nice render, but still needs some AntiAliasing cuz the X-wings are just hard to look at.

This might be slightly OT but I just wanted to mention this:

I haven't read Solo Command yet (I only got as far as The Bacta War in the X-Wing series. Still, was the brainwashed Twi'lek named Nawara Ven? I remember him being part of Rogue squadron for a while in the earlier X-Wing novels...

Right now, I'm just concentrating on reading the New Jedi Order books. I just finished reading the latest NJO book titled Rebel Stand. Three months after Coruscant fell to the Yhuuzhan Vong, the New Republic just won its greatest victory so far in the war: Wedge and the other New Republic forces just managed to destroy the Domain Hul worldship (yes, they managed to kill a military Domain worldship!). They had to sacrifice the SSD Lusankya to do it, but it was worth it! Read the book and you'll see what I mean.

No it wasn't. It was the guy who they picked up on the Twi'lek planet (Ryloth?)

Yeah, fix that. It looks like the laser isn't even parallel (or close to it) with the other. And I like the motion blur.

It was Tal'dira, he died head to head with Corran, they picked him up with 12 deathseeds in The Bacta War, polararm 2 or 7 (whoever it was) was in an A-Wing, and Tal'dira was head to head, so who is shooting who?... Wedge hops on one transparisteel leg! Narwara Ven was hurt in the end of TBW, and became the Lawer/Executive Officer, and Wedge asked him if "hopes on one transparisteel lag" ment anything, then realized that Narwara had one leg...

I was talking about my Crossroads render. If you're talking about the FS2 one, it's in the "A New X-Wing" thread. Karma is working on the new maps, but the old ones are available in that download, as is a temporary TBL.
